We usually rent a car but I have heard really good things about Tiffany Town Car. It has to be better to get a private car than a bus with other families.

A lot of people on here will recomend Tiffany's. I have never used them before but I will be using them for my upcomming trip. I know that the reservation process was very easy! I also know that they sponsor this site. In my opinion anyone sponsoring this site is wonderful!! :)

Hi and Welcome. I have used Tiffany Towncar for my last two trips and cannot reccomend their services enough. You will not be waitng for trasport ot the resort like with Mears shuttles. They meet you at the baggage claim and you are off to your destination quick as a flash. You can opt for a FREE grocery stop to pick up waters or things you may need or forgot to pack. They have a printable $5 coupon on their website or an $8 one can be found in the Passporter Guide (don't rip it out...show them the book).

Another vote here for Tiffany!
My friend and I were running "late" at MCO (we were really buying APs at the Dis Store there, couldn't wait!) and our driver waited patiently for us. We made sure to tip him much more. We also got a grocery stop and some great conversation with the driver. He even gave us his cell number if we wanted to go out to PI or ADH with him one night...lol.
We had to leave bright and early at 8a on a Saturday and he was at the resort by 7:50.
Highly recommended!

My recommendation is NOT MEARS. A few weeks ago we waited more than a hour (after we waited for our bags) to get on the shuttle, and then we had to make 3 more stops to load more passengers after we finally got on.

If only I had asked here for some advice first!

I looked up the prices on some rental cars and found that for 1 day I could get a economy one for $30. My thought was to rent for the day of arrival and rent for the day of departure which should run around $60 total. I originally planned for Tiffany's, but this works out cheaper. Then on the day of arrival, we could stop by the grocers and maybe the mall for the Character Premiere store, plus whatever other snooping around.

Is this a good thought or are there some pitfalls I'm not considering?

You might want to check more into it. Some rental companies charge extra if you do not drop the car off at the office where you rented it. But I remember checking, and National and Alamo seemed pretty reasonable to rent at MCO and drop off at the Disney office. They will even bring you to your resort from what I hear.

I have to give another vote for Tiffany's. One year I went down to WDW a few days before my husband and used Tiffany's for my kids and myself. Our plane was delayed and we didn't get to Orlando until after midnight. But there was our driver, holding his sign with our name. He was great. As for renting a car for one day. Perhaps it has its merits, but remember, you'll have to return it, then re-rent and return on the last day, and that can take a lot of time, which could be spent having fun. Tiffany will do a grocery stop for you on the way to your resort.

We've researched it now, and I believe it's $90.00

On our last trip we used Happy Limo. They were listed on the web and we found a coupon (Sorry now I can't remember where) and they were excellent. They picked up right outside baggage, were prompt and courteous, and good talking to the kids on the ride to the resort. They were on time for pickup and got us to the airport in plenty of time. I know lots of people have used Tony's Towncars so this is another choice just in case you need one.;) Their price was a comparable $95.

I used both Mears and Tiffany's this trip. There is NO comparison. Tiffany's will be my choice next time. Whatever the difference in cost is it is sooooo worht it. Mears takes forever to get to your resort, and when they come to pick you up you have to come at their time NOT yours.

Tiffany's sounds great...my best friend and I are going to WDW in about three weeks....trouble is that money is most definitely an object on this, and 90 dollars seems a bit much...:nervous

We'll consider it, but I was wondering does anyone recall how much Mears costs round trip? We can't seem to remember. :-) We'll only be there three nights so a rental car would just be silly. Grocery trip sounds nice though!!!
