Buses to/from the Orlando Intl Airport?

Would I be able to take one of the Lynx (Orlando city bus) busses from the Orlando International Airport to WDW (probably to the CBR)? Does anyone know which bus routes to use? I'm thinking I'd have to start with Route 42, but the maps are too teeny on the golynx website to see where I transfer to. Any help out there?

Yes, you can, and I want to say you'd take it to the main hub and transfer out of there. I'm not sure what the name of it is, and as it was just told to me, I've no notes of it. :nooo:

I'm sure one of the locals will be along with actually useful information. :laugh

I have read something about taking Lynx from the airport. The fare was very low and like MickeyMac said, you need to go to the hub and then transfer buses. The travel time going this way was something like 3 hours!

I also forgot to mention that it drops you off at either TTC or DTD, then you must hop a bus to your resort.

JM, that's amazing on the timespan! Makes sense though.

Jane, are you concerned with funds? Are you traveling with anyone else?

You may also want to consider your luggage in addition to the time it will take. I always seem to have a ton of luggage, and it certainly wouldn't be easy to take it and transfer it to a new bus.

If you have limited funds, consider taking Mears. Although it takes a bit longer than a towncar service, it costs only $26 per adult/$18 per child with a Disney coupon. I used Mears last September and I was delivered to my hotel within 45 minutes.

the link 42 starts at the airport and runs to the primere factory outlets, from there it would be a $5 or $6 cab ride to dtd. to go direct from the airport via a lynx bus is not possible. to do it you need to take the Link 11 then transfer at the Dowtown bus station. then get on the LINK 50 this will take you to the TTC. it should be noted that the baggage policy is one carry on per person. some drivers are more flexible then others though. it will take close to 3 hours before your at your resort. about the same amount of time as mears from what I understand, so the question is whats more important the monney or the convinence. to me I'd take mears, it may stop several times but its the same bus the whole time. I think mears is $28.00 and Lynx is $1.25 and remember to ask for a transfer when paying the fare the transfers are free.

Mears costs $29 adult/$21 child 4-11; with a Disney coupon the cost is discounted $3 per person. Mears does not take 3 hours. When I took it last September, I waited less than 15 minutes for the van and was at my hotel (3rd stop) in about 45 minutes. A friend of mine uses Mears quite often and while using a towncar would be faster, Mears shuttle time is acceptable. I would say most times Mears has you at your hotel in an hour to an hour and a half from the time you check in at their service counter.

Depending on how many people are with you, you might want to consider Tiffany Towncar. It's ~$80 round trip, plus tip, & there's a $5 coupon on their website for 1st-timers. They'll meet you at baggage claim & take you directly to your resort. Then you'll have plenty of room for luggage, too. If there are 3 or 4 of you, Tiffany would definitely be the way to go.

They must have, 15 mins to wdw. That's one of the reasons I used Mears in September, to check their service out. Like I said, my friend uses them quite often and has never complained about how long it takes to get to his resort.

Sometimes I wonder if the same people who complain about Mears taking so long are the same people who complain that their resort building is such a long walk away from the food court! :)

Glad to hear that Mears has improved. I used them twice in 1997 and again in 2000 and both waits to get to my resort were over 2 hours from the time I checked in to the time I got to my resort. Glad to see they worked out their kinks.:)

while when your waiting to go on vacation at the airport one minute may seem like 10 mins. and alot of people think that way. they hate to sit. so that may be why there are alot of complaints like that. also I drive by the Mears bus yard late at night normally once every two weeks and it seems like they get more busses everytime I look so maybe they are expanding there fleet as well.

Ugh, I had no idea that it would take that long with the Lynx bus. I was snooping around the Orlando Int'l Airport website and found that busses stop there and thought, why not? There will be only two of us -- me and my DS. I'm essentially travelling light with a small suitcase that could be considered carry-on size and his small backpack. But if it's going to be a hassle, I definitely don't want to do that. I was originally considering the Tiffany car since I've seen so many good reviews on it. Plus, if they'll make a grocery stop, that's all the more positive for me.
Thanks for the good help!
