Taxi from airport to ASMovies

How expensive is it to get a taxi from the airport to All-Star Movies Resort? We are flying to Orlando on a private plane. A friend of ours owns a plane and is taking us to Orlando. We don't want to rent a car. We just need transportation from the airport to the resort and then on our last day from the resort to the airport.

Will a taxi be our best option or should we try something else? There are 3 of us, 2 adults and a 6 yr. old.

it would proably be just as cheap to go with a town car, from Orlando International airport it will be over $50.00 each way, check out the site sponser www.quicksilver-tours.com for there pricing info. now the question I have for you is you said your coming in on a private plane to orlando, but you didn't say what airport, Orlando international airport or Orlando Executive Airport? that will make a difference in taxi price.

As stupid as this sounds, I don't know yet. My husband is going to talk to our friend tomorrow night.
I will check out that website. We will be arriving Sunday, April 4th. Will I have trouble getting reservations on this short notice?

well the airports really aren;t that fare apart however I think private planes tend to favor exectutive airport, although you may also consider kissimmee gateway airport if possible its only 8 miles from WDW. as for getting reservations this late I think its possible but I would start to work on it NOW.

On a side note Orlando executive airport looks awesome at night as you drive by on the expressway with the downtown area behind it and the 1 or 2 blimps parked there. really a awesome view, plus its right on lake underhill.

Because the Kissimmee airport is closest to WDW, we have decided that is where we will fly into. Our friend who is flying us could fly into any of the 3.

I know the Kissimmee airport has to be smaller. Will transportation from this airport be readily accessible?

well there won't be taxi's just sitting there, but there is a dollar rent a car there. another option would be a town car. Also they have been doing some constuction on 192 lately so to get from kissimmee airport to wdw I would come out dyer road (airport is on this road) when you get to 192 turn right and get out in the left lane asap turn left on the John young parkway. then turn left on the Ocesola parkway Its a mile or 2 up the John young, the ocesola parkway does have a toll it is $1.25 but tolls go up on april 1st so I'd plan $2 they boths are manned so you don't need exact change, this road dead ends at the AK once you enter WDW property you will see signs to your resort.

as long as where on this topic I thought I'd throw in a little trivia. there is a runway on WDW property it runs right along side world drive. after you pass the toll booths its on your right behind the tree's as you go up a little farther there is a area that looks like a bus or truck parking lot its actually a taxi way for the runway. although the runway has been retired it is used as a bus driver training area. also where they are tested to show they can still drive a bus.

We really don't want to rent a car. So, would it be easier to fly into Orlando International Airport?

Call the disney travel folks ((407) 939-1289) and they can hook you up with town-car vouchers. The cost for the two vouchers is about $100 give or take a few bucks and VERY worth it.

When we went last year, we checked no baggage and the driver was waiting for us at the terminal.

We were LITERALLY in the car less than 15 minutes after getting off the plane and checking into the hotel roughly 30 minutes later.

The tip will certainly add a bit more, but that's completely up to you, but since your friend is flying you down, you should be willing to soak up a little extra luxury for the finishing touches on your trip.

:)

do me a favor visit the web site for quick silver tours www.quicksilver-tours.com . it may not be one of the standard prices but call Gregory the owner over there explain to him the situation of wanting to land at Kissimmee airport and see what he can do for you, make sure to let him know you are a member of Disney central since he sponsers the site. I'm sure he can work something out with you. my guess is it will cost more and be more of a hassle to go to Orlando international airport.

In addition to QuickSilver being a sponsor, we used them on our last trip, and they were wonderful. Gregory even called me several times to make sure everything was fine, and called after I returned home.

They can pick you up anywhere. For a towncar from Kissimmee, expect something like $70 round trip or so. Their number is 1-888-GOTOWDW. Those are all letters, not zeros. Make sure you let Gregory know that you are coming in on a private plane, and about what time you will be arriving.
