Delta / Song ?

Has anyone been on a Delta/Song flight recently?
Do they really have a TV at every seat? More leg room?

If so, how expensive is it to watch a movie or play a video game?

Thanks!!!

I haven't flown it yet, but I've been reading the reviews...

Supposedly, the entire fleet was to be updated by the middle of April, so yes, there's a TV at every seat. AFAIK, shows and games are free, but the headset is $5.00 I think (you can keep it for future flights)

More leg room applies to rows behind row 14 (I think). They removed a row in the back of the planes and gave an additional 2 inches of leg room to the other rows. They didn't do this to the front of the plane, so the first 10-14 rows are not at spacious.

Thanks Matt!
Sounds like it should be an enjoyable flight this year.

Re: Delta / Song ?

Must be something new then. We flew Delta/Song last October and it was certainly not the same as you are now describing. I thought the seats were a bit cramped and there weren't any tv's at every seat. Maybe we were on one of the pre-updated planes.

That's exactly right.
JetBlue began the trend on the "low-cost" flights and Song followed suit.
Song began upgrading their planes in October 2003 (I think) and they were slated to be completed by April 2004.
As far as more leg room, on both airlines, I believe it depends on where your seat is, as I indicated on the earlier post. BOTH airlines now have more leg room than when they first began operations, something that changed within the last 8 months.

I love it, and have flown many times from NYC to Orlando.

Hey Buzz, go to seatGuru.com and check out the seats. It shows which are good and not so good. Thats how I got our seats. Give it a look PS, Travel/Leisure magizine had the top ten airlines this month and both jetblue and song were in the top ten.

Re: Delta / Song ?

I went on Delta Song and really liked it. The plane we were on didn't seem to have too much extra leg space but then again I am nearly 5'11, so I am never truely comfortable. Our plane DID have tvs in every seat and it didn't cost me anything extra to enjoy them. Probably the most fun I had was playing a "trivia" game via the TV with other players on the plane, it was a blast! It was funny too b/c when you saw that seat 25B, for example, had the lead or got a question right you'd hear a "YAY!" or "YES!" coming from that area in the plane! haha.
They also had more appetizing "extra" foods you could buy and the prices weren't OUTRAGEOUS. An example would be this nacho and cheese plate they had and I believe it was like $4.50.
