Tiffany Or Ibex?

I have reservation for Tiffany Town Car for my October 3rd WDW Vacation. I have never used a Town car service on my previos trips. I always used Mears. This year, I did what I considered a splurge and booked them. Last time I waited 2 hours to leave the airport with Mears. After sitting on a plane for two hours this does not appeal to me. Anyway, My question.......other people have told me to use Ibex instead of Tiffany. Anyone have any insight on these two services? Can you help me out here please? I hate to cancel a reservation after I made it. The prices seem to be around the same. Is there any difference? Thanks in advance for any and all help.:p

Hi Dana!

Although I haven't actually done either yet, I've heard great things about both. We'll be using Tiffany this October (you can get a $5 coupon on-line, you know), but I think Ibex would be just fine, too. It was really a toss-up for me.

In March, I got a limo just as a splurge. At the time we hadn't planned on getting into DVC & kind of thought it would be our last "big" WDW vacation for just the 3 of us since my daughter is now going into her senior year of high school. I don't know the company 'cause we went through Disney Travel, but it was an awesome experience. The limo really is a splurge...the towncar, even though much better than the shuttle, really is just about the same as the shuttle (and depending on the size of your party might even be cheaper).

Dana, I have never used a towncar service in Orlando, though I am planning on it during our next trip, we have had several glowing reviews of Tiffany in past posts. Plus, they are a sponser of DisneyCentral, and have been extremely nice in all of our dealings.

Here is the coupon for $5 off your trip. Not much, but worth it:

Thanks for the coupon..was sticking with them. I just heard many decent reviews of the other and was wondering what the difference would be. I hate to change a reservation unless it's really going to save me money and IBEX is $5 more now.:D

I'd like to subtely hint at the fact that Tiffany Towncar is a very gracious sponsor of Disneycentral.com :)

Thanks for the "hint". I noticed that. I was just curious to know if anyone had used IBEX. I booked with Tiffany when I booked my trip back in February. I use another forum and some people were singing the praises of IBEX and I honestly never heard of them. I don't have much experience with town cars either. Sorry Tiffany's..it wasn't a slight. I jsut needed to know if Ibex was truly better or were they a sponser on another site and that's why they were pushed. Again, I have no intention of breaking my reservation, specially since Mickey gave me a $5 coupon!! (again thanks Mickey)

I do know that Ibex is a sponsor of another Disney fansite and that only positive comments on Ibex make it more than a few minutes on their boards without becoming "misplaced." But I'm not pointing any fingers.

As for the question at hand, I'm a poor college student, so I've only used Mears. My friend took a towncar on our recent trip (didn't say what company) and said that it was really nice, but for a solo travler it wasn't worth the cost.

Sorry if that didn't come out right. I just didn't want anyone to think I was trying to best the sponsor of the site. I didn't come off as I wanted to sound..sorry about that. If you think of it, would you please ask your friends which one they used? I am set on Tiffany regardless now anyway. I just could imagine there being any real difference and all the questions I asked on the "other" site were answered with go to Ibex. Thanks for responding and again, I really didn't come off right. I didn't think you were pointing fingers. I really didn't want anyone to think I was trying to upset anyone with Tiffany being a sponsor and all. :D

Dana, don't worry about it, we aren't like other sites. If someone has a problem with one of our sponsors, I am sure that they wan't to hear about it, as do we. I choose our sponsors because of their good reputation and quality products. Obviously, no one or no company is perfect, so there will be differing views. If somebody came back and said that their driver was rude, late and they were carrying a dead cow in the trunk, I would probably drop them as a sponsor. :D

I don't think that anyone here has used Ibex, but I know that there have been several that have used Tiffany, including WDWJeff, who is currently on his trip. I am sure that he will give a full review when he gets back. I actually contacted them about sponsorship after several of our members came back with positive reports.

Honestly, I would guess that there isn't a lot of diffence between the companies. All that is required is to have nice, clean cars, courteous drivers and to be on time. Also, a grocery store trip on the way is nice as well. They are all priced the same, and I would assume offer similar service. I am sure that Tiffany will give you great service, and will be a great start to a wonderful vacation.

Dana, you didn't do anything, so please, please don't worry! I think I may have been the one to come off wrong. I've been a bit overly sarcastic lately IRL and it seems to be drifting into the realm of the Internet too... sorry!

I'm trying really, really hard to find some witty response to that, but I don't think I can top that. I think this is the second time in about a month I've had to say that, I guess I'm losing my touch.

Anyway, now that I've contributed to the thread drift, back to the topic. :)

Hey Mickey, what if the driver was really nice, not only on-time but early even, but still had a dead cow in the trunk? Would you still drop them?

Hey, Guys,
Sorry I'm so late in responding to this one. Tiffany was fantastic. For three limo rides(Airport-Hard Rock, Hard Rock-CBR, CBR-Airport), the total cost was $102, using the online coupon. That included everything except the tip. The drivers we had, Jerry and Marcelo, were both prompt, courteous, and completely professional. Since there were four of us, not only was it a pleasure to go this route, it was also less expensive than a shuttle would have been. To tell the truth, if you're 3 people or more, it should be a no-brainer-Tiffany is the way to go. If you're alone or a couple, it's a splurge, but it might still be worth it just for the convenience factor.:D :D

We used Tiffany Towncar on our honeymoon. It was wonderful! I recommend it highly. The driver met us in the luggage terminal. Within 20 minutes we were out of the airport and at our hotel within the hour.

I am pretty new on this site, and have been reading through some of the older posts and I just wanted to say a big THANKS for this one. We have a trip planned for Oct and I had originally reserved with Mears for transportation to and from the airport. I was not thilled with the cost since there will be 9 of us going, and was concerned about how long it would actually take us to get to the hotel considering the stops at other resorts.

Then I read the posts here, and decided to check them out. Well, using Tiffany Towncars (a van for us) is going to save us around $150!!! And we will get non-stop service to our resort!! I am so excited! Not to mention that when I e-mailed them with questions, they were very quick to respond, and extremely helpful!!

Thanks so much for the info, what a great site this is!!!!!
