Going from Memory. There are 25 shops plus 5 or 6 restaurants. There is Goodings (a grocery store) Jungle Jims (restaurant), Cold Stone (ice cream), an Italian Restaurant, a McDonalds, Taco Bell, a TGIFridays, Pebbles and a Pizza Uno. There is also Pirates Cove (or something) which is a miniature golf course.

Goodings has a very good pharmacy, which is one of those places that you hope you never need when you're on vacation. We needed it once.

Re: whats in crossroads?

There is also a Foot Locker which came in handy when we forgot to pack our son's sandals. Gooding's is the closest grocery store to WDW too.

Re: whats in crossroads?

Where across from DTD exactly is it located??? I don't remember seeing it, or maybe I just didn't notice since I was not looking for it.

That sounds a tad bit closer than the main drag in Kissimmee.

Re: whats in crossroads?

It's actually down the street if you go down Hotel Blvd. It's about a 7-8 minute walk from DTD.

Re: whats in crossroads?

Yeah if you follow the road where the DTD "official" DW hotels that are owned by other companies, (Holiday Inn, Doubletree, Royal Plaza etc.) Just follow that road and you will end up at an intersection that has big WDW entrance signs with Mickey and Minnie and Crossroads is right across the road. There's a big sign so you can't miss it.

Re: whats in crossroads?

Swirly colored white bread from Goodings!!! That store has everything to stock a gourmet kitchenette! Plus wine, beer and liquor. Also, the miniature golf course is one of the very best... Also, a very cool McDonald's.

Re: whats in crossroads?

So these shops and restaurants are close enough for walking with a 5 year old? Might save a little bit on our food bill. We are staying POFQ which I understand is close to DTD. Maybe we will have to check it all out if not too far to walk.

No, I'm sorry but they aren't even close. WDW covers some 40 odd miles. I know it's hard to imagine how big it is, until you get there. The only other WDW property within walking distance of POFQ is POR. You can travel to DTD from POFQ by boat (about 20 minutes) or bus. But even from DTD, Crossroads would be quite a walk for anyone. Also, Goodings, though the closest supermarket to WDW, is very expensive. The Unofficial Guide to WDW did a comparison shopping between Goodings and Publix. Goodings was $72.38 - Publix was $55.01! I don't think you'd really save too much money shopping or eating at Crossroads.

Re: whats in crossroads?

I knew that would be too good to be true. Would have been nice. Thanks for the post. We've bought some meal vouchers and have some character meals planned so we will do just fine staying on the property. Was just a thought. Thanks for the info.

Re: whats in crossroads?

That's 47 square miles and if you have never been to WDW you have to see it to believe how large it is! There are very few places you can actually walk to. DTD to Hotel row is one, and as said in the prior threads to the crossroads. You can now walk to SSR. MGM to Epcot. Epcot to Boardwalk, Swan, Dolphin, Yacht Club, and Beach Club resorts. Fantasia miniture golf. CSR to Blizzard Beach and WinterSummer mini golf. MK to Contemporary Resort. If anyone knows any more please mention them. Joe
