Disney Quest

This is new since the my last visit to WDW and the video we have only talks breifly about it. My children will be 14, 9, 8 and 6 at the time of our trip and was wondering if it's worth it to go or is this just one big giant arcade? They are all huge video/computer game fans and I cas see from the video interactive gaming is the basis of this place.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Re: Disney Quest

I would definitely recommend Disney Quest. We go there at least once on every trip. I have to tear my family away. My DS who is now almost 6 has been going since he was three and my DD who is almost 11 has been going since she was 8. My DH and I also love it. It is 4 floors high with early video games such as Pacman, skeeball, and others from our childhood all the way to the newest in virtual reality games with everything in between. My family especially enjoys designing a rollercoaster at cyberspace mountain and then riding it in the simulator. It is great! We can spend hours there having fun together. Your kids will love it and I think you will too.

Re: Disney Quest

is Disney Quest pay-one-price or do you pay extra for the games?

Re: Disney Quest

You pay admission and everything else is free, except food but they have the Cheesecake Factoy which is absolutely delicious. All the arcade games run on free play. They used to have a card system where you'd pay so much and then whenever you went on a ride you swipped your card and you could reload at these kiosks. They don't have it anymore and I'm glad they dont.

Re: Disney Quest

DQ is my 10yo favorite place! He would rather do that than go to the parks and we never miss it. The only pay games are the ones that dispense tickets for prizes. We usually have the kids take their money for this part, buy a card for them to play and when it is done, it's done. There are enough other games for them to play that don't cost anything. There are multiple levels but I feel secure letting my older one go on his own. I usually find a bench or comfy seat, tell them where I am and let them go!

You should try playing some of the Virtual Reality Games yourself. My entire family enjoys playing teh Aladdin game, Pirates of the Caribbean game, and Cyber Space Mountain. In fact DH and I also like to play the retro games like Pacman, Q bert, Centipede Dig Dug, etc. too! DQ can be a fun place for the entire family!

Re: Disney Quest

Thanks Poohfan! Sometimes I do play but my limit for video games runs out a little sooner than my boys! My favorite is Pirates of the Caribbean, which we all play several times and then they head off into the arcade zone. I've done the Mighty Ducks pinball thing too (sometimes even alone) and that is the bench I usually choose because I like to watch that one. It's a great place to play.

Re: Disney Quest

Our first time was just DH and myself and we loved it. This time we had DS on his first trip (8yo), we could not wait to bring him over. He loved the entire thing. We wound up going back on our last day before heading to the airport.

They also have a floor where you can take a picture and add funny noses, eyes, mouths, etc and you can purchase it. You can learn how to become an artist or musician too. There is also an area where they have huge comfy chairs with computers and internet access "free".

We usually pick a night, eat in DTD and head over to DQ for the rest of the night. Works out great for everyone.

How much time do you all spend there on average? Is it an afternoon or longer?

Re: Disney Quest

We've gone 3 times and we've never stayed longer than 90 minutes. I suppose if I had to pay to get in (as opposed to having in included in a LOS pass) then I suppose 3 hours would max it out for me.

Think of it as a giant video game.
