Which marina do you recommend and why?
I'd like to rent a (self driving) boat (?) during my visit this November. I prefer 'speed' as opposed to pedaling. (I recongize they don't let you go very fast, but what's the fastest rental available?) Which marina and which boat (or whatever the offerings are called) do you recommend, and why? ![]() |

Re: Which marina do you recommend and why?
DH and I rented the new Sea Racers last Fri when we were at the Poly. They were fun, and I would say sort of fast. We just ran around the lake and made lots of loops. We would rent them again if we got the chance.

Just a note... the Sea Racers replaced the Mouseboats at all Disney marinas.

Re: Which marina do you recommend and why?
The marina's at the Cont, Poly, Grand Foridian, FW and WL have the fastest boats in the whole disney resort, I think they get up to 15 mph but it seems faster out on the water. of corse I'm refering to the Sea racyer. also these marina's listed above allow you access to Bay lake and the seven sea's lagoon so you will have plenty of space event if every single rental boat is on the water, I have seen that happen during christmas week and can say there was still room out there.

Gee, I can't say what marina is best since the last time I was on one of those boats from the Poly was in 1976. The rental fee was $6.00 for a half hour. I vividly remembering motoring along the unspoiled water's edge of what is now the Grand Floridian.

Re: Which marina do you recommend and why?
there a pinch bit more now about $23.00 a half hour. there are also about 4 or 5 boats patroling the water on each lake.
HMM, $6.00 a half hour, I think you can get a paddle boat for that now at the smaller resorts like corando, CB, POR. Event the sail boats are $12.00 a half hour. |

Re: Which marina do you recommend and why?
Yes, the marina's at the Contemp , Poly, GF, FW and WL are the best IMO.
I have been at the BC/YC/Boardwlk Marina and these's no comparison. There is a lot more water to ride on at Contemp etc...

Re: Which marina do you recommend and why?
We rented Water Sprites at the Contemporary a couple years ago.We went there because there is a lot of lake out there to play around in.My DS was so excited because he was old enough to drive one.I think you have to be 14 years old.

Re: Which marina do you recommend and why?
there was a bad double accident (both with in 20 mins involving the previosly smashed boat) back in april of 04 and since then you have to be 16 and have a valid drivers license to operate a sea racyer.

Re: Which marina do you recommend and why?
Is it worth renting one out of OKW? What water access can you get to from there?

Re: Which marina do you recommend and why?
Are there any boats that you can rent and be able to take a 2-year old on? Is this even a good idea? I can feel my WD's gaze as I type this thought??
Also, if anyone knows the answer to the OKW question posted below, please let us know.

We're staying at the Swan this next trip. Does anyone know what kind of boats those pretty swan things are? Are they paddle boats or motorized?
