Water coaster at Typhoon Lagoon

I guess the rumors are really true!! There is going to be a water coaster at Typhoon Lagoon!!!

The resort announced plans for a "water coaster" at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon water park. The ride, called Crush 'N' Gusher, marks a technological first among Central Florida water park attractions, combining steep drops and gravity-defying, coaster-like inclines, with screaming jets of water propelling riders back uphill.

Looks like this is going to be great--I will have to put TL back in our plans in the next couple of years. I can't wait!

I'm with you DisneyTeacher - that's going to be SO awesome!!!! I can't wait!! I love water parks, but I've never had the pleasure of riding a water coaster before, have you?

Great news, we travel to Cedar Point and visit their water park and also one an hour from us and the kids love it. I have ridden a water coaster and it is such a great ride. Can't wait! We might end up a TL visitor too instead of just BB now.

Let me say that this isn't what I would call a water coaster. I would call a water coaster something that resembles a water plume ride, like Splash Mountain, or a full blown Roller Coaster with a puddle at the bottom. In reality this is a raft ride, and is great!! Two people head down an open slide. The slide is faily long, and has many ups and downs. It's great!!

WDWMagic had an official update about this one today. They posted a picture, and a press release by Disney. Disney is saying that this will be an entire addition of a new section to the park.

Ohhhh!!! That looks like fun! I saw something like this on the Travel Channel at some other water park.

I did too, it's that one in Texas with the German name , I'll never spell it correctly.... Schlieterban???

Does anyone know approximately where in the park it's going to be? TL is a fairly tight water park, so I can only assume that the new ride will be located somewhere on the existing park's perimeter.

Anyone know for sure?
