DTD Home Store Now Closed
I just returned home from a shopping trip to the Downtown Disney Marketplace and noticed that The Disney at Home store is now closed. The site is being renovated and soon will house an expanded Goofy's Candy Company. Much of the merchandise from the Home store has been shifted to The World of Disney.

That is sad news. I loved the home store, I could always fine plenty I wanted to buy in there. Candy must be a bigger seller than I thought.

That has always been one of my favorite stores!! We have outfitted many a room of our house from that shop! It is a shame to incorporate all that into the World of Disney. Don't get me wrong, I love that store too, but it's almost too big, and it is REALLY hard to find things in there!

I'm ok with this because the Home Store didn't take the AP 10% discount, while World of Disney does!
Yaaaay! That means more Mickey cabinet knobs for me!

Good way to look at it Matt. I always loved to shop in the Disney Home Store, but I will just have to spend more time in the World of Disney Store now.

I have to agree WoD is too hard to find things in some times. But they do have that AP discount also. So I guess we have to take the good with the bad.

If you ever need help in the WoD store just ask a cast member for a shopping directory that has a map and list of where items are located, an invaluable source in you aren't familiar with the store.

The WoD may have everything but every time I go there, I feel like I am in one large LOUD mall. IMO the store certainly lacks any Disney charm.

I didn't know they had maps, they should have those at the entrances. It sure is like a mall, it is always so crowded.
