Typhoon Lagoon Crush n' Gusher Announcement

There was a thread on here before about Typhoon Lagoon's new attraction, "Crush n' Gusher." It was being speculated whether this would be open by May, when a lot of DCers are going to WDW.

I am just copying and pasting this from allearnet.com. I don't know if it is 100% accurate, but this is what they said:

NOTE: Typhoon Lagoon is closed for its annual rehab
December 12, 2004 through March 12, 2005.
When it reopens, it will unveil a brand new attraction.
Crush 'N' Gusher, a white-knuckle water coaster thrill ride,
will send you along a series of flumes and spillways
through a rusted-out tropical fruit facility.
You'll be able to choose from three different routes,
Banana Blaster, Coconut Crusher and Pineapple Plunger,
each ranging between 410 and 420 feet in length.

Does "unveil" mean they will actually be opening this attraction as of March? I don't know. Just thought I would post this for others to see.

That's what I get from that announcement. It sounds as though when TL reopens after it's rehab that the coaster will be ready. That's my impression from this anyway. What actually happens is a bird of a different feather. We shall see I guess.

The last time we went camping at fort wilderness it was closed down. It would be great if they fixed it up and reopened it.

I think you have confused this with River Country. Disney just announced that it has been closed for good.

That is what I gathered as well...they definitely made it sound like it was going to be presented to the public after the rehab. That would be GREAT, but I'm trying not to get my hopes too high just in case.

When I was there this past Oct/Nov, you could tell they were building something like a coaster off to the side by the parking lot!
this sounds COOL!!!

Kraken has nothing to do with water at all, you might being thinking of Journey to Atlantis but Crush n' Gusher is totally different. If you have every seen the shows on the Travel Channel about Schlitterbahn this is similar to their Master Blaster attraction. My connection at Typhoon has said that it is supposed to be ready to open by the reopening of the park.

It DOES sound like the Master Blaster at Schlitterbahn in New Braunsfels, TX...and it is so much fun!!! Can't wait to try it at TL in May!!

We have a Master Blaster here at our local resort town. It is great fun!!!

Yeah, I went and checked out the pictures on WDWMagic again today, and yeah it looked like the slides were almost done. I just thought this was a HUGE project, but guess not.

That's amazing. Sounds like they really could be done by March then. I'm going to try and think about everything else in WDW, and then I'll forget all about Crush n' Gusher...and if it's open when we get to TL, it'll be a nice surprise!
