Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach

Hi all <waves>

I'm new around here but not new to forums. I've been to Disney several times, but never had time to go to Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach. I'll be staying at the Wilderness Lodge again...............and wondering what everyone's thoughts are on which water park is better? I'll be going with the hubby and my four year old daughter April 5-8.

Thanks for your input

Re: Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach

Last time we were there, we chose to go to Typhoon Lagoon, because of the opportunity to go snorkeling and the wave pool. I think it depends upon what you like to do at water parks. Blizzard Beach appears to be oriented more on large water slides, and Typhoon Lagoon on wave pools etc.

Hi Lisa!! Welcome to DC!!!

My two cents...while I LOVE both water parks, I usually prefer Typhoon Lagoon. I may be young, but I still prefer more of the slightly-calmer tube slides at TL, versus the bruising body slides at BB! Plus, the wave pool is just sooooo much better at TL!

Hope you love it here on DC!!

Re: Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach

Just wanted to welcome you to DC, we never hit the water parks and I have/had psoriasis real bad, but next time we will most likely go as we found a doctor that actually knew what they were doing and has cleared it up 99%. Will be watching this thread to see which park is tamer for older folks like us.

Welcome to DC!

I've never been to TL, but I LOOOVE BB! It's so much fun. Teamboat Springs with the big 4-person rafts is my favorite. There's some you can go down in 2- and 3-person tubes, some you do by yourself on a toboggan (hehe), I think 2 body slides (could be wrong), a kid's climbing thing, and a buncha other stuff. I love it. But either one you pick, you'll have so much fun!

Welcome to DC

BB is amazing. The slides are a lot of fun and the lazy river is great. I haven't been to TL yet, but in May I'll be sure and visit.

Re: Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach

You're sure to have a good time at either one, Lisa. They're both fun and interesting in their own ways.

I personally prefer TL because of snorkeling with the sharks, and because I'm not a real big fan of the water slides. I can float around the lazy river all day in either park and be as happy as a clam (sorry, bad water pun).

Welcome to DC
I would say TL with children and we have been to both. TL has the zero entry wave pool and a good Kids area. Not to mention a lovely lazy river and kids small slides. BB is also great but it has alot more rides for older Kids and can be alot more busy than TL. Our DD's are now 8 and 12 and love BB, I still prefere TL for the peace and quite!

Re: Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach

We have been to both and the only thing that TL has that is better(well not including the water coaster not finished yet) is their wave pool. I know our kids like BB alot better and it has more things ages 6 and under can do also.

Re: Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach

We (DS's and myself) really like TL. Love the snorkling with sea life, love the lazy river, love the wave pool.
My DH, DBrother like BB because of Summit Plummit (the monstrous slide!!)

Re: Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach

I prefer typhoon lagoon and I think that is your best bet for a little one, too. The wave pool and lazy river are great and the slides are good but tame enough for a brave 4 year old. The snorkeling with the sharks thing is cool. BB is more high speed slides and seems more geared to teens, IMHO.
