Suggestions for Non Park day
Inspired by the other thread, I was wondering if anyone could give us suggestions for a Non Park day while we are at disney. We will be there End of feb until middle of Mar. We have a four year old girl, one year old boy, 18 and 15 year old girls. TIA

Re: Suggestions for Non Park day
We love Downtown Disney as well!! The adults and older kids would like Disney Quest and the whole family can play mini golf (I think there are two on Disney property). Resort hopping is fun - just grab a bus to any theme park and board a bus the the resort that you want to visit. Our most favorite thing to do on an off-park day, though, is to just enjoy your own resort. Hang out by the pool, visit the arcade, check out your gift shop and just RELAX!! Have a great time!!!!!

Definitely enjoy your resort. Many people tend to skip all the wonderful details in their resort because they spend so much time at the parks and return dog tired.

How about a water park? Exploring ft. wilderness petting zoo and horseback riding? renting one of those watercraft things to zip around the lagoon in? Do a dinner show like hoop de doo or luau? Rent a bike and ride around the resort? go on a horse drawn carriage ride around POR? Explore DTD?

Re: Suggestions for Non Park day
My fam and i set aside special days to just relax at the resort pool. Heck, you're in Florida! (or california) Enjoy the sunshine! We also enjoy going to downtown disney. we also just ride around on the monorails (lol its fun!) and try to catch some of the fireworks from the parks from the monorails or the parking lot where you catch the tram.

Re: Suggestions for Non Park day
Unfortunately, we are not staying at a resort, We are staying at a private home that we rented through greatrentals.com Our home has our own pool, but I don't know if it will be warm enough to swim in. Thanks for the great ideas.

Re: Suggestions for Non Park day
We had a great time renting the little two-person boats at the Contemporary and riding them all over the lake. What a blast! Also, DTD and DQ are fun. I guess you would not be interested in other parks, but we loved spending a day at Islands of Adventure/Universal. It was a nice change.

Re: Suggestions for Non Park day
I LOVE the non-park days!! Sometimes they end up being my favorite parts of the trip!
My suggestions: *rent WaterMice (on Bay Lake/Seven Seas Lagoon--you have a lot more room to play out there, and these things are a blast!) *explore on-site Disney resorts, using the Disney transportation system *get a spa treatment at the Grand Floridian spa (you can stick to one small treatment to save $$, and still feel like royalty!) *rent bikes at a resort like POFQ or FW, and spend some time exploring (they're cheap to rent and can keep you entertained for hours!) *see a dinner show like the Hoop-De-Doo! *pack a picnic and eat it on the beach at the Poly! (or pick up snacks at Captain Cook's for a picnic) *see Cirque du Soleil *shop at DTD and enjoy the little things *enjoy the BoardWalk, and maybe eat dinner at Spoodles *play a round of miniature golf (on or off-site) I'm sure there are more things I could come up with--there's so much to do!! Hope some of these suggestions help! ![]()
