Any parents of their own special princesses will soon have yet another way to make the little ones happy at WDW.

Disney has announced plans to open a children's salon in the huge World of Disney store at Downtown Disney. The 10-chair salon, expected to open in April, will be called Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and will offer various beauty treatments for the kiddie set.

The most expensive package will include hair, makeup and nails -- and don't forget the princess gown and a glam photo. What'll that set you back? Cost is expected to be around $100. The addition of the boutique is in part to celebrate World of Disney's 10th anniversary this year.

Boy, Disney is like a dog with a bone now. They got hold of this specialized market for little girls and they're gonna shake every last penny out of the parents for it.

As much as I wish they'd have more for boys, I'm more and more relieved that there isn't now.

I know I'm going to get jumped on - but I just find this ridiculous. "Money-maker" indeed. WDW has more than enough entertainments to keep little girls happy, without spending hours getting "beauty" treatments. Little girls are beautiful without any of that nonsense - even if its just for "fun". If they really want to "celebrate" why don't they take the money they'd invest in this "salon" and donate to a worthy cause - heaven knows there is enough of them. Yes, I know WDW is a business - but this just smacks of pure greed to me. Enough is enough. And I'm the mother of 2 girls myself.

You make good points and I agree with you. Sure, it's fun and all, but there is a lot to do for girls already. It just seems to me that when something new comes up it just seems it's marketed towards little girls. Of course, I could be wrong and just can't come up with anything at the moment for boys (besides the pirate adventure or whatever it's called).

I think it is a great idea. I wouldn't let my DD get the make up but she is 5 and loves for me to do her nails. I think this is a GREAT alternative to taking her to a "grown up" spa. She will LOVE this and when we go back (who knows when) I'll definetly be taking her.

Well, I don't currently have a daughter, only one son, so this doesn't really bother me (although I do agree with Llama about it being a purely greedy money making idea), but I do have one concern. I think it's a pretty silly idea, so what concerns me is where in WoD is this place gonna be? It sounds to me like they are gonna take some space in the already over-crowded WoD store and put a stupid boutique in it. I mean, Geez, you can barelyl walk in WoD sometimes, and they want to take some floor space from this store and put in a stupid child spa? BAD IDEA!!!! They should be expanding the store and making the walkways more managable instead of taking away space for a waste of time idea like this. Geez...I think adult spas are an overpriced waste of time...it's even worse for kids... But that's just my 3 1/2 cents...

Sometimes the girl that does my nails comes over to my house to do them. When she comes, she always pants Sissy's nails up with little flowers, and Sissy feels so special.

It's not that she's NOT beautiful without it, and it's not that I think her physical beauty is more important then her inner beauty. She just likes feeling pretty. (Who doesn't?)

I just think it's cute that she could get it "Disney-fied".
