nightclub/bar for 40 somethings.

as you guys know my DH and i are going in september for our 25th. as this is the first time without three kids we are thinking of spending one night doing grownup things. we thinking of either PI or boardwalk. let me tell you first we have not been in a nightclub/bar since disco was popular except for dinner or wedding etc. any suggestions for us we do not want to feel out of place or walk into somewhere where only 20 years olds hang out. what is the "dress code" is there anywhere you can suggest. we just havent had the time here at home we usually just hang out with friends , movies or a dinner. we really. havent gone out to listen to music. wow i feel so nerdy jsut writing this. thanks for the help

Try the Rock and Roll Beach Club, We are over 40 and we love the place.

The Beach Club and 8-Trax at PI are both good. (Sharon and I are both uppper 40's (and above). Jelly Rolls (our Fav.) at the Board Walk is also a lot of fun.

8 trax sounds good is it more of the oldies we are not rap people. more like good old rock and roll. how do you dress? what is jellyrolls

My vote would definately be 8-trax, they play ALOT of late 70's dance and disco music, along with many early 80's stuff and they have A LOT of cool specialty drinks. I am not sure if there is a "dress code" per say but you see a lot of "casual nice" or just stuff you would normally wear going out at night.

I'm a 40-something and I can tell you we like to go with our friends to PI to the Adventurers Club, the Comedy Club, and 8 trax. We also love Jellyrolls on the Boardwalk.

But as far as PI goes, there's ahuge variation of age groups there. You really won't feel out of place anywhere. If you want to go to PI, then take advantage of the night out and visit all the clubs.

thanks so much. prior to becoming ill my DH was a cop and worked crazy shifts i am a nurse and worked 3-11 and we had three kids. we didnt have much time to go out so we are a little out of practice.
i am so excited i cant wait for our trip

The dress for PI is almost anything. You will see people in shorts and T-shirts to Chino's and button down shirts. The crowd is a wide spectrum at PI young to old, and every one fits in well together. Jelly Rolls is or fav., is a dueling piano / sing along / request bar at the Board Walk. It is a lot of fun.

As far as you and your DH's shifts, I feel your pain. Sharon is a RN / FNP who works a combinatiopn of days and nights, and I am a full time night nurse.

We tried Jellyrolls for the first time last summer and really had fun. There were people of all ages there and everyone was having a great time.
