Shamu Dining

Has anyone done the Shamu Dining? It is costly, but wondered if it is worth it?

Re: Shamu Dining

Yes - we did it last November and enjoyed it very much. The dinner is held around the whale tanks, and all of the tables have a good view of the whales. A trainer gives a talk on the whales and their behaviour, etc. while you eat and then answers any questions. The buffet itself was excellent. There was a very good variety of food - and both a buffet for adults and one for kids. Because there is limited seating, it wasn't crowded. It was a very relaxing and enjoyable dinner, well worth the money.

I liked the whale-shaped cookies.

Just as Llama and queensmama said it was great, My DD's both enjoyed it. It was worth every penny and you got really close to the whales.

Re: Shamu Dining

Personally I didn't really like it. I thought the food was just OK, nothing to write home about. The presentation about the whales was nice, but I thought too short. It was nice being up close, though. But, I don't really like sea world, so that is part of where my opinion comes from.

We enjoyed it.
The food was good and being so close to the whales was really neat.

Re: Shamu Dining

I thought it was wonderful, but the food was Ok. They present you a whole show in the backstage area, and you have a great view from all of the seats. Shamu will come almost right up to your face if you have an upclose seat, and still pretty close if you don't. A camera is a must-have for the Dine With Shamu.

Re: Shamu Dining

We thought the food was much better than any we had at WDW, & we were on the dining plan, hitting all the good places. I agree, it was kinda short, but also very relaxing. Plus the whales were soooo close when they swam by. I'd say do it, but book as early as you can!!
