How do I get there?
1. What is the best way to get from theme parks (say MGM) to DTD? Do I have to go back to the resort and change buses?
2. Can you walk from EPCOT to ESPN store?

Re: How do I get there?
I think you have to go back to your hotel 1st before going to DTD, unless you are at MK, or EP. I think you could hitch on a bus from one of their resorts to DTD and then scope out which bus area to go back to to get a ride back to you hotel. ESPN restaurant at Boardwalk is a short walk from the back exti/entrance of EP.

Re: How do I get there?
Just check the red LEDs on the front of the bus, you may get lucky and catch a bus going from MGM to DTD!
If not, the busses go from the resorts regularly! ![]()

Re: How do I get there?
You can do it a few different ways...you can take a boat or bus to the nearest resort and go to DTD from there or you can just take a cab like I do....WAY faster.

Re: How do I get there?
My recomendation on MGM to DTD via disney transport is to catch a bus from MGM to Pop Century then at Pop Century hop onboard a DTD bus. The reason I recomend Pop over the Epcotresorts is becuase of the demand for buses at POP is higher and buses come more frequently. Plus while the boat ride is quite enjoyable but its slow.
As for Epcot to the ESPN store, your best bet is to Exit out the International Gateway, Located between the United kingdom and France. There you can hop on a friendship cruiser (boat luanch with A/C) or walk to the Boardwalk. The boat will take slightly more time but its a nice trip and I would recomend that route Boardwalk is normally the first stop.

Re: How do I get there?
My roommate and I ran into the same problem today. Buses don't run from DTD to the parks anymore because people were taking advantage of the free parking at DTD and taking a bus to the resorts. You will need to take a bus to a resort and then catch one back to DTD. But yay, come visit us city-dwelling cast members in DTD!!

MGM is so close to the Boardwalk and Swolphin resorts, you can walk there and then board a bus to DTD, or take the boat over there.

Re: How do I get there?
so taking the disney bus from your resort is the best way to get there??
what about driving your own car?? paking is free right?? we are thinking we might do DTD on our arrival day and just wondering if we should drive over, rather than wait on a bus and then have to wait on one again when wee are ready to go back to the resort. we will be there in jan.2007. i cannot find a map or directions on the route to takefrom ASMo,does someone have a link to a map on the route from ASMo to DTD? ~~also~~ while i am at it...exactly where is Earl of Sand.?? it's not even in the Unofficial Guide!!!!!! i know it's in the marketplace, but did it go in where the crab house was or something??? help please :) lol thanks:) |

Taking your car to DTD shouldn't be a problem as you are going in January. The parking lot can get very busy during busy seasons. The parking lots near the Cirque de Soleil are the last to fill up as they are the furtherest from the Disney store and Earl of Sandwich.

From the All star resorts it's simple to get to DTD, exit the resort through the main exit and after going straight through 15 traffic lights the west end of dtd will appear on your left, followed by pleasure island and finnally the market place. the drive time is around 20 to 25 mins.

Re: How do I get there?
We always have a car at WDW (I know, I know, some people swear by the Disney transportation, but we just prefer to have own our ride). I've never had a problem parking at DTD, and that includes Memorial Day weekend.
The walk from EPCOT to the ESPN store really depends on where you're starting in EPCOT. Once you leave EPCOT and enter the Boardwalk property, bear left. If you're already around the Int'l Gateway, then it's a very comfortable walk (especially in the cooler weather). If you're at Spaceship earth, or on the other side of the countries, it's longer. If you're on a schedule, the boat that runs from Int'l Gateway to Boardwalk can be a little frustratingly slow. And the walk from MGM to Boardwalk always feels to me a little longer than it looks (especially when it's hot out).

That will work perfectly, sorry there really are 15 traffic lights I counted them out 3 times in my head, most of them will proably be green, and just remember to start counting as soon as you go through the security booth at the all stars. It sounds longer then it really is.
