Going to WDW in December

Our family is going to WDW in December and are going to have 2 birthdays during our stay. We are trying to think of ideas for the b-days. If anyone has ideas we would love to hear them.

We are also thinking of trying MVMCP while there. Has anyone been to it before? any info would be appreciated.

Thanks

Re: Going to WDW in December

Birthdays are lots of fun at WDW. Be sure to tell your hotel front desk about the birthdays as well as tell the person who books your meals, as several WDW restaurants celebrate birthdays with a flourish.

I booked an Illuminations Cruise for my mom's birthday a few years back, but in December that might get a bit chilly. Maybe taking one of the fun backstage tours would be a good alternative.

MVMCP is fabulous. I went for the first time last year and couldn't wait to return. This year, I'm taking my parents! Definitely do it if you can. Also, remember the other holiday events like the Candlelight Processional and the Osborne Family Spectacle of Lights.

Re: Going to WDW in December

Don't forget to ask for the Birthday button at each park.

That way CMs will usually say happy birthday and might even give them something for free which happen last December with our eldest DD.

I know that at Crystal Palace, they have all the birthday kids get up and march around the room with the characters holding up signs and everyone signs. I thought that was very cute when I was there for breakfast!

We did the same for our DS's 3rd bday. It's a very nice way to celebrate!

Re: Going to WDW in December

Thank you for all the info. My youngest daughter, which will turn 5, wants to go back to Chef Mickey's for her b-day. My oldest daughter, which will turn 21, hasnt' made up her mind yet. Although, she has mentioned going to the Castle for the Cinderella's breakfast. Has anyone tried Cinderella's castle breakfast?

Cinderella's castle breakfast is so yummy!! The french toast is awesome! Very fun! Definitely get the buttons, and your dd's will get extra attention. Tell the CM's and the people when you book your room, I heard that the hotel will send a card to your room, some CM's will have characters call and wish you a happy birthday, Also I heard that there is website that makes disney gift baskets and delivers them to your room. They didn't seem like they were to much money! I can't remember the site, but i am sure someone knows it!

Re: Going to WDW in December

Um...you may be too late to book a breakfast in the castle. You can certainly try, but those reservations usually go on the first available day.
You can probably get a princess breakfast in Norway in Epcot as an alternative.

Re: Going to WDW in December

I have been to the Walt Disney World Florist website and looked at their baskets for birthdays. I was seriously thinking of getting one for my oldest daughter.

Are any of the Princesses at Cinderella's castle? Also, is it very crowded in Dec?

Re: Going to WDW in December

It depends on when you are going in Dec. When DH booked ours for DEc. he was told that the 1st week of Dec. is the least busiest. I think it will be busier the closer you get to Christmas. We celebrated my DD's birthday @ WDW evryday we we there. It was great. Special desserts at every restaurant (free) and we did an autographed picture in our room from Snow White (her favorite Princess) along with a balloon. Just call a week before your arrival, and then double check @ check in to make sure they have in their system. Also just a suggestion, (cause this is what I would have done if it were open in Feb.) but what a day at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique? I didn't ages so I don't know if your older DD might be too old for that.
