Water Park Question

What all do you take when going to a water park? What do you do with your things when you go to a water park? Do you rent a locker? And more importantly, what do you do with your money & room key?

Sorry to spring so many questions, but I will be at BB tomorrow, and I just wanted some tips on what to do with my things.

I usually take a backpack with a towel, sunscreen, sunglasses, my room key, and my driver's license. I can charge anything I need on my room key, so I don't need extra cash. I wear my suit under shorts and a t-shirt.

I don't rent a locker, because I find that if I just put my room key and license in my shorts pocket and stuff those into my shoe nobody wants to take the time to rifle through stuff. You can also purchase those waterproof containers about the size of a credit card that have a strap to hang around your neck.

Have fun!

Re: Water Park Question

I have a beach bag I use to carry sunscreen, towels, and a few snacks. We grab a couple of chairs while my DH rents a locker for his wallet. We leave a few dollars in the beach bag but not much since we can charge lunch to our room. We've never had a problem but at the same time I don't want to risk it. My DH zips his room key in the pocket of his swim shorts.

Don't forget--if you have a water park mug from either park you can take it back and buy a sticker for that day for $6 and reuse your mug. New mugs are $12 so it saves you some money.

Thanks for the tip! I'm guessing we won't stay at BB too long. DH just wanted to go to it since we did TL last year, and he's never been to BB. I think we'll go as soon as we get there (around 10-11am) and have some fun, then hold out on eating/drinking until later in the day. We're planning on saving our appetites for EOS when we go on our traditional first day-DtD trip.

Re: Water Park Question

I take as little as possible. I normally only hit the water park for a couple of hours at a time, usually about 3-4 times on a weeklong trip. Since I'm only at the park for a bit, I don't need anything. I've even walked in without a towel before. I like to air dry.

Re: Water Park Question

I take as little as possible too, but certain things can't be avoided like room key/money in case of emergency, etc. If I'm only taking small items, I leave my towel on a chair and keep the money/room key with me in a waterproof pouch on my wrist. I'm not sure where you get those things but they can be SO HANDY!

If I'm bringing more stuff (like a cooler with food) I usually have a pair of shoes so I do what Bali does and stuff the important stuff down in my sneakers.

Hope that helps! I the water parks!! Have fun!!

Re: Water Park Question

Since we have kids, we bring a stroller and a pack-in-play for the baby... We usually rent a towel and life jackets for the kids at the parks... We get a locker sometimes--the locker key is on a little waterproof bracelet you wear... We bring sunscreen, sunglasses, maybe some snacks... DH and I both have SurfSafes....little plastic containers designed to hold credit cards and room keys/drivers license and such... it is waterpoof and snaps shut and latches... then you just wear it around your neck...

I hope you had fun! I love Typhoon Lagoon, but I am not a fan of Blizzard Beach at all.

Re: Water Park Question

Get a waterproof case 1"x3"x5", with string to hang around your neck, for your valuables and a towel. Your set to go. They sell them in the park for $7.

We usually go to the water park with some towels, sunscreen, drink, snacks.
But this time I won't be lugging all that stuff...

WATER SHOES! If you wander around blizzard beach for any extended period of time you will burn your feet.

I also enjoyed having one of those waterproof disposable cameras. It was a blast taking pictures from underwater and on the rides.

Re: Water Park Question

We where shorts, shirt and flip flops to the park and bring along a bag with towels, sunscreen, waterproof camera and $$. We rented a locker once and found it to be more of a pain everytime we needed money. We just keep the bag on a seat covered and no one has bothered it.

You definately need flip flops or water shoes for the restrooms!!!! I dare anyone to walk in them barefoot!!!!!

My sister in-law cut her foot in the Blizzard Beach wave pool. Water shoes should be required.

Re: Water Park Question

We wear beachy clothes, and bring towels, sunscreen, money, and possibly hats. We rent a locker, and we bought a plastic case that is on a lanyard that snaps open, so you can put your money and room key into it. It's waterproof too, so that nothing can happen to it.
