There were fireworks. Lots of them, not like the lame "New Year's Eve" they used to doevery night. From where I was standing in Epcot, I was able to see both MGM and DTD's fireworks, although there was a tree blocking a clear view of MGM.
I don't think they're going to resume the nightly New Year's celebration. It's old and stale.

That's a shame. I liked the "lame" nightly New Year's celebration, though I liked it much more when it was the more elaborate stuff they did back in the mid-1990s rather than the stripped-down version they had near the end.
