I am going to miss the Adventures club I loved going into the libary ... but they are right it was much better when PI first openend and they had the midnight fireworks show ... with the PI dancers

I would have liked to have gone to the Adventurer's Club, but nothing else really interested me- I could do any of that close to home.
We'll see. This isn't something I can get too worked up over.

DH and I used to love going to PI in our trips b/f we had DD. He would make me go to the Comedy Warehouse shows twice in a night! He loved the Adventurer's Club too. I liked 8 tracks. I'm bummed, we probably would've been able to go back on our next trip since my parents will be with us and could watch DD.

If this is true, then I'm glad that I've had the opportunity to experience a few times in the past. I'd have to admit that I was either single or married without children when I did. The last 5 trips or so it just hasn't been something on our agenda. I'd have to say, though, that now I'm curious to see how this piece of property re-develops.

I'm very surprised and dissapointed by this. While I too haven't gone yet since we have small children, we have heard tremendous things about it and are going to go in Aug on our "no kids" trip. I always thought it was cool that was the one "grown-up" place on resort you could go. I think they will have a hard time replacing it with anything nearly as good. I don't agree they need more dining and shopping...when we go to WDW, we go there for entertainment, not good shopping.

I'll miss the old PI regardless, but if it becomes a bunch of non-Disney restaurants, clubs, and shops (like West Side) rather than more Disney-run/themed places (like Marketplace), I'll be much less interested. I go to Disney more for Disney stuff, not so much for non-Disney. I enjoy Wolfgang Puck Express, Earl of Sandwich, Virgin MegaStore... hmmm... Cubby likes Wetzel's Pretzels... but most of what we like is the massive Disney Store, the Disney cooking store, etc. I am interested in the theming of the T-Rex restaurant but if the food is anything like Rainforest Cafe's
 then I'll be sorry.We have enjoyed Fulton's (for lunch; we were less impressed with dinner), Portobello, and I very much miss Fireworks Factory (which, arguably, was one of the more themed PI restaurants, and while run by Landry's like the others, I think, still had its own PI backstory involving Merriweather Pleasure, the founder of PI)... Cubby liked House of Blues (it was OK for me, still a tad pricey) ... I am sure we will love Cirque du Soleil when we see it though I almost count that as Disney ...But the vast majority of non-Disney stores, etc. don't interest us as much. I don't like the idea of Disney Stuff being replaced, Borg-like, with Non-Disney Stuff. I can get Non-Disney Stuff all over the place, after all! David

I agree with David. I rarely go to the Westside of DTD because it's a little boring and not Disney run. We've been once and always skip it on other trips. I hope they don't turn the space into a Westside extension.
I went to PI once on a college trip with my sorority sisters and it was great fun...but it was SO empty the night we went (in the dead of summer too) that we were a little surprised.

I think this lost its edge when it was opened up. Then you had all sorts of families wandering around and it ruined the street party atmosphere. Before, you felt like the whole area was connected, rather than individual attractions.
Hopefully there will be some adult only attractions like Jellyrolls. I love mu sons, but would rather be without kids at some point. |
