I don't mean to insult all you pleasure island lovers but honestly...I din't care for pleasure island. It isn't for the whole family to enjoy and that is what Disney is all about. People seemed rude over there-maybe because of a lot of drinking- and I don't know... just not as "disneylike" as the rest of the parks.

AMEN!!!! I only been to PI twice (Grad Nite and with fellow CPs). I had no choice with the Grad Nite trip but the 2nd time I was forced to go with my roomies. I'm not much for the nightclub scene anyway (too much of a Christian I guess). But I always thought that Disney was all about "the family." So I'm not really that bummed about it. But I still think that they need to keep Adventurer's Club.

I'm curious to see what the "new" PI will be like in the future! I have been to PI several times but never gone into any of the venues except Comedy Warehouse. Gotta admit none of the others ever interested me!

I was happy that I was able to visit the Adventurer's Club a couple of weeks ago. My DH and I really enjoyed it, it was lively and and the CMs made us laugh. We were not interested in visiting any of the other clubs, so once we left the Adventurer's Club, we just headed back to our room.

Not sure how theology affects enjoyment of nightclubs, as most of them don't seem to require a doctrinal litmus test for entry, but as a Christian myself I've always enjoyed the nightclubs at PI.

I feel very much that Disney is about all kinds of families (and people!), not just ones which happen to have children, so I think areas aimed specifically at adults -- but with the Disney magic -- are good too.

I will truly miss the Comedy Warehouse!!! We love that place!!!!
We have so many fond memories of meeting people and enjoying the show!!

I never really got a chance to enjoy the other clubs - but I wish we had!!

We are totally bummed that they are taking away our nighttime fun!

So, this just bites! The group was looking forward to going to an 18+ spot at some time during our stay. Ugh.

Has anyone found another nice alternative to PI yet?

we go to jellyrolls often. it is a lot of fun. it is at the BWI. it is dueling pianos / sing-along and is a very enjoyable night out.

Jelly Rolls and Atlantic Dance hall would be good alternatives. There is a new club at Coronado Springs, but haven't been and haven't read anything about it.

If you can go off property, there is City Walk at Universal.

Thank goodness DH and I were able to go to PI one last time to say our good bye's over Labor Day weekend.

The last time I was at downtown Disney late at night was in 2006. around the area of the clubs I have never felt so vulnerable and intimidated by the gangs and drunks around that area, so for this I'm pleased for the change.

However I have been looking forward to going to pleasure Island for a long time but have been unable to due to having children with us. Oh how this was going to change for our upcoming trip in 2009, We planed to have a big night out at pleasure Island to celebrate a New Year (in September), We have even booked PORQ then two days later got a letter from Disney saying it was going to be closed But they have added Disney's Oak Trail Golf Course as an alternative entertainment

Disney need to look at City Walk for inspiration to make a grate adult entertainment area.
