Tell me about Disney Quest

I have never been inside Disney Quest. Since the Pleasure Island clubs will be closed before my next trip, we are considering an evening at Disney Quest but I am not sure it is worth the admission. We are not Water Park people and with no PI Clubs we are getting just the park hopper option on our tickets. If we do DQ, we will need to pay admission for the 2 of us. I'd like to get a feel for it before I add it to our list. What do you like (or dislike) about DQ?

Re: Tell me about Disney Quest

If you like video games, simulators and such then you'll like DQ. It's not my cup of tea, but my DH and DS enjoyed it.

Re: Tell me about Disney Quest

DH and DS went when DS was 10. He loves video games and so does DH. While they enjoyed it, there were so many people that they really didn't get to do a lot of what they really wanted to do. And, according to DH, DS was a little overwhelmed by everything. I know several people who LOVE the place. But it didn't seem to work out for us. Maybe if we went when there aren't a bazillion other people.

Re: Tell me about Disney Quest

My DS17 and 12 loved it there while my DH and I went shopping. They said they had pac-man and older video games that I would have loved to play. They designed a rollercoster and then rode it. They loved it but they are teenagers. I hope this helps.

We go to DQ for a few hours each time we visit WDW. I don't know what the cost of the tickets are because we have annual passes to WDW and it's included. But if it's over $20, I don't know if it would be worth it for you to go. We like to play the games, and ride the coaster simulator...but it can get very crowded. If you are gonna go, then I would make sure you spend atleast 4 hours there to get your moneys worth.

Re: Tell me about Disney Quest

We loved Disney Quest. Its a really nice change of pace and some of the interactive games are a lot of fun. If you go I suggest heading straight for the Pirates of the Carribean game, the line can get pretty long. The virtual reality attractions are fun too.

Re: Tell me about Disney Quest

If you have never been, I would go (if you like video / interactive games). We have gone a few times to pass the time. We enjoy playing the older games and love building the roller coaster and then riding it. A couple of times we came off of that and had to sit down as it was just a little intense.

Re: Tell me about Disney Quest

I can handle it for a couple of hours and love to do the Jungle Cruise, Pirates of the Carribean and the Create your own roller coaster with the family. We also do the flying carpets and a couple of others together but after that I've had enough...over stimulating for me, but DH, DS & DD love it. They're old enough now (& have cell phones)that when we've had enough, we leave to check out DTD and they can catch up with us a little later. Overall it's fun and worth checking out, the Cheesecake Factory is there if you want to get a bite to eat...there's also a computer area for "bored parents" to surf the net, have a cup of coffee or soda while they wait for their kids or DH!

Please forgive the highjack, but, we ahve AP's & we had to pay to enter last trip. Were we misinformed? Do you have a regular AP or a premium or something?

Oh, & just to get my 2 cents worth in about DQ... we have gone every trip & really enjoyed it but most likely would not go if it weren't for DS who is currently 11.

You need the premium AP, which also gives you the water parks. We dropped this a few years ago for just the regular AP as we do not generally go to the water parks or DQ enough to make it worth while.

Re: Tell me about Disney Quest

My sons ages 10 & 12 last summer liked it. We got in with the water park & more option. It was crowded and hard to do alot. I don't think I would pay the price for it as I think it was fairly expensive and you can only really deal with being in there for a couple of hours.

Re: Tell me about Disney Quest

We always go to DQ, but my DS9 and DD11 are video game freaks. Although, I must say, the best things there are the virtual reality games...I have never found the treasure in the rafting game, I am terrible at it - I remember wrecking the boat several times....

But there are several games to play together as a family, and they are a blast! The Pirates game is so much fun, and the make your own rollercoaster is great.

We have found that weeknights and afternoons are best, and for our Sept. trip, we have at least 2 visits penciled in...I cant take for more than 2-3 hours at a time. Friday and Sat. nights, forget it! It is filled with teens and young adults on dates and such...not the right time for my guys. In Sept, though, we have been in an afternoon with very few people there, and it was great. The elevator ride is my favorite, actually...I try to take the elevator several times while I am there.

There is a "vintage" video game section with Qbert, Centipede, Galaga, all the great "oldies" from HS in the 80's! It makes me feel like a kid again!

We do the water parks, so our admission is included, but it is alot of fun!
