Santa at Downtown Disney

Has anyone talked to Santa at his Downtown Disney location? I am thinking after the girls go to the boutique, that would make some awesome photos. Are photopass photographers there? What was your experience?

Re: Santa at Downtown Disney

I am leaving next week and I was wondering the same thing. I've seen him there on past trips, but never took the kids to sit on his lap or take pics or anything. I was wondering when he was going to start showing up there and if there was a place I could find a schedule for him.

I do know at American Pavillion in Epcot, they have Santa AND Mrs. Claus and they do have PhotoPass photographers there. They are also present at the MK location as well. So there is a good possibility there will be a PhotoPass photographer at the DTD location, too!

Re: Santa at Downtown Disney

We took the children last year to sit on Santa's lap and had the photos taken (we took our own too!) The line was not to long (about 15 min) and the Santa was great...gave out little candy canes at the end. We will definately be back to see him this year too!

Re: Santa at Downtown Disney

Not to rain on any parades, but we weren't too impressed with the DTD Santa when we went in 2006. He wasn't friendly with our kids (at the time DD 3 and 9mo twins), and only looked at the camera, instead of engaging with them. He wasn't interested in anything she had to say, only wanted to get the picture taken and on to the next family. All I can say is, hopefully, it's a different Santa this year.

That's where my dh and I had our picture taken in 06. They are the nicest couple, I mean Mr. and Mrs. Claus. I got to sit on Santas lap.

Re: Santa at Downtown Disney

Hhhhhhhhhmmmmm...I was considering taking Miss Caisley to see Santa at DtD but we have a WONDERFUL (read: exceptional) Santa in Daytona Beach that we usually visit (and this couple is so totally INTO the part - he grows a real beard, it's just wonderful) and I'm wondering if we should not risk a grumpy Santa?

I -KNOW- our Santa in Daytona will be awesome but how cool would it be to go to DtD to see Santa...

I am now conflicted about Santa.

Erin, the Claus's at Epcot were a married couple and were delightful. He had his own beard and everything. He WAS Santa!!

Hmmmm well listen to this!

My friend who lives in Wayne, NJ has a friend who owns a photography shop. During this holidays, this "friend" becomes a "friend" of Santa. He is really awesome I'm talking REAL deal!

Anyway . . . she called me the other day all excited (we are meeting up in WDW for Xmas) This friend of Santa was HIRED by Disney to be their Santa and he is super excited, and CAN'T WAIT!

She is waiting to get/hear his schedule so she can fill me in . . . and when she does I will let you all know. If you go where he is, I promise you will NOT be disappointed!

I've seen him in Wayne before . . . he is super "real"! And GREAT with the kids.

Well I can only go to the DtD Santa due to the fact that we are not passholders so if he is in DtD we will definitely go see him!!! (and tell him that we were referred to him for being awesome)!
