Re: Aerophile ride

I might do it once but I can do aerial sightseeing a lot cheaper. Anybody MBers visiting Virginia Beach area are welcome to look me up. No in a balloon but an hour runs about $90-110 depending on gas prices and you can see a whole lot more! Sure it's not WDW but...

I'm guessing that $75 bucks will get three people a half hour flight from Kississimee.

Re: Aerophile ride

Just got back from DTD a few minutes ago and we are relaxing at the hotel. it was very crowded, possible because it rained all morning. It is beautiful now! Anyway, the cm at the balloon said it would open April 17. We were disappointed as we wanted to ride it. Looks like a blast. He said you could see for about 10 miles on a clear day.

OH YEAH! I thought that might stir up a little jealousy in a few of my fellow mousebuzzers! lol lol.....We are going to Epcot early in the a.m. I can't wait to see all those beautiful topiaries and flowers. Just hope the weather is as pretty as it is right now. It was awful this morning.

Re: Aerophile ride

I saw the balloon up in the air Monday. You could see it from Epcot as we were outside eating at the Rose and Crown. We had seen it going up earlier in the day when we drove by DTD. I will post the pic when I get home from my trip of the balloon taken from Epcot.

Re: Aerophile ride

We saw it when we were there last week. The driver on our boat ride from POR said the ride is 3 minutes to the top, 4 minutes sitting at the top, and then 3 minutes back down, for a total of 10 min. I don't know if that extra 4 minutes makes it more worthwhile for the price, but I just thought I'd mention what we were told.

Re: Aerophile ride

For our family of 3 it would be $48.00, or $4.80 a minute if it's ten minutes long, $8.00 if it lasts only six minutes. What the heck, it's vacation! Should be a lot of fun, gotta give it a try...once...

Re: Aerophile ride

For some reason, it doesn't seem that fun to me... not $16 worth, anyway. I'd rather have a couple of cocktails at Capn Jack's.

Re: Aerophile ride

We too saw the balloon up and running last week. We didn't venture over for a ride, didn't want to be the first one up, I'm the type who'd rather see a few thousand check it out first before I attempt. Looked pretty in the sky, you could see it one day from Typhoon Lagoon. A few windy days I didn't see it up, will be interesting to see some pics of the view up there!

We tried to ride it yesterday, but they weren't flying due to the wind. Maybe next trip!
