Parasailing???

Has anybody out there in DC Land parasailed at Bay Lake or Seven Seas Lagoon? We've been to WDW many times, but never taken advantage of that. My dd and I we reading about it in the Birnbaum guidebook. It's about $125 for a two-person, 10-minute ride. It sounds fun and we're the two most daring (or dumbest, depends on your point of view) members of our family, anyway. Sounds like it might be a real hoot!

I didnt even know they did this until this weekend. When i went to MK, and was taking the monorail to the TTC I saw someone parasailing. I thought maybe it was something new since I'd never seen it done there before. I dont' have any info on it though, sorry!

From Sammy Duvall's FAQs:

Q. Can I have a rider on the boat?
A. No, the parasail boat is reserved for those who are flying.

Q. How long will I be on the water?
A. While each flight last approximately 10 minutes long, we take up to 5 flights per 1/2 hour, so you will be out on the water for around 30 minutes.

And the parasailing prices:

Single Flight :
Regular- $85.00 per flight (8-10 minutes at 450 feet)
Premium- $ 105.00 per flight (10-12 minutes at 600 feet)

Tandem Flight:
Regular- $135.00 per flight (8-10 minutes at 450 feet)
Premium- $155.00 per flight (10-12 minutes at 600 feet)

I don't think the pricing is out of line of any other resort's parasailing costs. mickaholic, what kind of pricing have you seen for parasailing?

Doesn't Sammy Duvall also offer water skiing?

If you can water ski, why can't you swim in the lakes?

I know they say it is because of bacteria in the water, but I sure take in alot more water skiing than I do swimming!

Are there alligators around Disney?

Yes, Sammy Duvall offers waterskiing.

Yes, there are alligators around WDW, including Bay Lake.

I don't know the real reason you can't swim in the lakes at WDW.
