Anyone cruising?
DH and I are considering doing a Disney Cruise next March.
Has anyone done the land/sea package? Would we be better off on a 7 day cruise? We have a 3 yr old DD and will be traveling with friends whose dd is the same age. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks! Amy

My daughter adores the characters (and so does our friend's dd)
Having never cruised before, is there enough to do for 7 days on a boat with two 3 year olds? Did you do the excursions? How expensive were they and was it worth it? Sorry for all the questions, but I have no idea what to expect. Thanks!!! Amy

Do the excursions! we did not, and regretted it.
My DS's (10yo,15yo) had to be talked into spending time with us, because they did not want to leave their activities, based in common grounds and the oceaneers lab! I think it was a perfect combination of kids having fun in a safe environment, we (mom and dad) got to have couple time, and we all got to have family time. |

We did the land/sea combo in May, and are doing it again in November. I brought along my 3 and 1 year old (she was actually 34 months). All of the organized kids activities (lots) are for 3 year olds and up and they are very strict about that policy, so we kind of had to make our own fun. They actually give the parents a pager so the child can reach them whenever they want. They don't allow swim diapers in the pools either. I heard they just changed their policy on that, though. There are plenty of characters to see as well as shows. Don't get me wrong, we had a fantastic time, it was just a little disappointing that we couldn't have our almost 3 year old in some of the activities. There was really nothing at all for my one year old, but he really enjoyed the shows. As far as the land/sea combo goes, when we went in May, I put together the package myself and saved loads of money.
Hope this helps. |

glang22 welcome to Disney Central!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the info. My dd will be almost four by the time we go, so she should be able to participate in the clubs. I would have thought that your daughter would have been allowed to participate if she was that close in age. I will definitely try to put the package together myself. As is true in most cases, you really can usually get a better deal by booking everything yourself. I am glad to hear that you enjoyed it enough to go back in November. Any tips for the boat you could share;) ? Thanks again!!!!!! Amy
