Planet Hollywood's Future?

Has anyone heard if the Planet Hollywood at DD is in trouble? The PH in our city closed last month. I know PH worldwide has been in financial difficulty for some time. Of the non-Disney restaurants around WDW, the PH is our favorite.

I am fairly sure each PH is now owned and operated individually.

The one at Disney does very well and should remain open.

Everytime I have seen it, it's been extremely busy. So I doubt it would go anywhere.

I think that Disney operates Planet Hollywood, so it won't be going anywhere anytime soon. I think that PH is a great place to eat and have a good time.

As part of the Dreammaker package, you get like a $25 food credit at Planet Hollywood, so I would assume Disney does operate the resturant.

We ate at PH in October at DTD, The service was great and the food pretty good. It was crowded but was the shortest wait of any of the DTD restraunts. We enjoy eating there.

The PH in Atlanta closed too. I like the one in DD so i hope it doesn't close.

On a business trip to Seattle last summer I noticed that PH was closed too.

The only one I ever ate at was in Las Vegas in 1996 and I was not impressed. Long wait for food and the food was blah.

I thought the concept was nice however, I just have never wanted to go back, which is apparently what other customers have thought as well. :)

I've always enjoyed PH. I've eaten at several locations, WDW, New Orleans, Dallas, & San Antonio, and have always had good experiences. I was really disappointed when they started going under. You would think that a resturant owned by Stallone, Arnold, etc would have enough financial backing to survive. I guess it just wasn't a priority for them. I think you guys are right though, WDW does own the one in DTD, so it should be safe.

Oh, and as a side note, not all of them are closing. I saw the one in Times Square is still open. The cast of "The Apprentice" had to work at it a few weeks ago...:D

The one in Atlanta (where I'm from) closed a while ago. I don't think this PH is gonna close because of Disney operating it.

I would guess you are right about that. The PH at DtD is always crowded. I would think it's pretty safe.

The one in Chicago closed a long time ago. Personally, the place has never done much for me.

I have to agree with Leslie. I remember going only once to the PH over at DTD, and really did not care for it. Food was ok, and one thing I remember was that the place was very loud. Just my opinion!!! :) JOANN

Nice hotel, hard beds, great front desk service, terrible concierge service. Visited MK for one day during Christmas 1996, awsome decorations.
