Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon?

I was wondering which water park you like the best. I like Blizzard Beach because of the slides, which are amazing, and the theming is awesome. So, which water park do you like the best?

Funny, a friend of mine just emailed me this same question!!
We LOVE both parks...If we had to choose just to do 1 per trip, I think that it would be TL. The atmosphere is so nice, plus you get to snorkel with the sharks!!!

Blizard Beach has bigger, faster, longer slides. But TL holds its own.

I think the same question was asked in an earlier thread too. You may want to do a search on the front page of DC.

I like them both, but if I had to pick, I would chose TL. :D :) Joe

Typhoon Lagoon. This is going to sould stupid, but I like the music better, and it makes a huge difference when I'm sitting in the sand all day, waiting for the kids to return... just waiting... waiting... and waiting...

Plus, there seems to be less glare, more shade, and the kiddie area is more fun! :D

See, I like BB because I'm up there with the kids riding the slides and stuff like that, then I grab a tube and float on the lazy river for an hour or two, and then go back on the slides. I'm just a kid at heart:)

TYPHOON LAGOON!!! I love Typhoon Lagoon. It makes me happy just thinking about it. My next favorite water park is the ocean.

Typhoon Lagoon is my pick!!

I love the atmosphere, and I find that the slides are thrilling yet they don't bruise my spine as badly as the slides at BB.

Hey, my only recommendation is DON'T EVER SIT DOWN IN THE WAVE POOL--even in the shallowest part! It may look innocent & harmless, but when I was 15 and on my first vacation to WDW, I sat down in what looked like tiny, lapping waves. Unfortunately, they pulled me onto my back and dragged me along the rough bottom of the pool, bloodying up my back pretty bad. I still have the tiniest hint of a scar!!! :nervous

I think Typhoon Lagoon is much prettier than Blizzard Beach. If you are a thrill seeker you would probably like BB better.

you too? :p Dad and I decided to let the innocent waves gently hit us as well.....I did two flips in a foot and a half of water, and dad hit the ground and skidded....he still has the scar, and says that no scar is better than a Disney scar

I wouldn't even recomment it at BB, even those small waves gain quite a bit of force!

Yea, water weighs a lot. Without getting into all of the math and physics I learned in the submarine service- water weighs eight pounds a gallon. When it hits you- especially factoring in your bouyancy- you're going to get moved. Seems like they could have something other than stucco for the bottom though. It does hurt a bit. I usually wear "shoes"- those water ones- there because it even kind of hurts to walk on it.

Glad to know I'm not the only one! :laugh I felt awful at the time that it happened, because I suggested my dad and sister sit down with me in the water. Both of them got beat up as well...but I was the only one who actually ended up with a scar. Serves me right, I guess. :hmmm

I guess cause I'm young and like it all, I'd have to say both parks have their strong points. Plus I like whichever one castmembers get in Free at the momment! ;) (which is usually the one NOT under refurbishment!)

Anyways with TL, the atmosphere is just beautiful, I love the tropical plants and settings, even if I haven't been in a while. WHile they may not have as many slides as BB they just have a better theme.

BB has more for the thrill seeker, even though it's not as big as TL and you can't swim with sharks. Is it just me or did BB feel colder?? I guess it was all the fake snow? But all those slides were soo fun at BB.

I would never miss playing at a water park if given the opportunity! Especially on those hot days (READ: AK!!!!!) it's always great to soak on the lazy rivers and veg. Honestly, IMO I'd skip Ak and go to a waterpark.

In thinking of waterparks, can we have a moment of Silence for River country??
