Fantasia Gardens or Winter/Summerland?

Hey yall,
There have been polls about snacks and water parks, so why not about Mini-golf???

I've only played winter/summerland, but I've passed by Fantasia Gardens many a time.
Having played both courses at WSL, I found that it surpassed all my mini golfing expectations. Getting squirted by melting snowmen, castle bridges and clams that open and close, oh and that last hole where you get your special message, just great! I have never ever played mini golf like you see on TV til I played those course.
I just wanted to know if anyone else had played either and what they thought!

Re: Fantasia Gardens or Winter/Summerland?

We played WSL twice and loved it. My DS (4 years old) is quite the little golfer as he usually gets 4 or 5 holes in one! The course is not as difficult as Fantasia but fun none-the-less. I would recommend it as something to do if you want a quiet day without going to the parks or shopping. The theaming is wonderful with all the campsites and beach stuff. I have never seen a better mini golf. It is great around Christmas time too.

I think that Fantasia Gardens is the best mini-golf at WDW. WSL is still great, but I felt that FG was better.

Re: Fantasia Gardens or Winter/Summerland?

I voted for Fantasia Gardens, not only because we always have a really good time there and it's become a tradition for us, but because the last thing I want to look at in Florida is SNOW! even if it is fake. Guess that's the same reason I've never been to Blizzard Beach. And Fantasia gives you culture, too, while you're beating the pants off your husband.

Re: Fantasia Gardens or Winter/Summerland?

Fantasia Gardens, I think, is the best. There are two courses at FG - one for fun and one for folks wanting a more serious work on their putting, I guess. Anyways, it's very accessible when you're staying at the Dolphin!

Re: Fantasia Gardens or Winter/Summerland?

Fantasia Gardens is a beautiful course, but it is usually very busy. They now make reservations for tee-times at FG. Winter/Summerland is very cool as well, and is usually less crowded. I like the winter side better, it reminds me of winters with snow back up north. The best thing is, it looks like winter, but with Florida temps.

I am going to have to mini golf at each one so that I can share my opinion. I am looking forward to trying out one of them in March.

Re: Fantasia Gardens or Winter/Summerland?

i love fantasia gardens. it's lots of fun, especially for those that enjoy the movie. each hole is themed to a particular scene from the movie. one hole has snowflakes, another one has the aligator holding the hippo up, etc. it's lots of fun. the last time we played there, the guy at the counter looked over our score sheets and checked to see if one of us happened to get a hole in one at the secret hole. i got it and won a free soda. though rob won the game, the guy gave him a lollipop. he also gave me one, too.

Re: Fantasia Gardens or Winter/Summerland?

We've played both and like WSL best. I think it is going to depend on the seriousness of your golfing too. We are big goofs when it comes to golf so we play for laughs instead of scores! We also let people pass us because we are so bad at it!

Re: Fantasia Gardens or Winter/Summerland?

We played at Winter Summerland last summer, and were planning to try Fantasia when we went down in February, but we ran out of time and never went. I loved WSL! It was great fun!

Re: Fantasia Gardens or Winter/Summerland?

Ok don't hate me but we play mini-golf a lot and we took advantage of the free mini-golf coupon. We went to FG and found that it was ok. They were rehabbing parts and yes it was difficult in parts. We still had fun though. Next time we want to try WSL.

How far in advance can you make them? And where? Do you have to wait til you're at your resort? Or are they like PSs & you can call ahead of time? We've decided we want to do it in December & I just want to know what to expect.
