Pin Pics Trading: Good or Bad?
So far on pin pics I have only traded in the mail one pin and it worked fine. But I'm curious, has anyone that has traded pins on pin pics gotten scammed?

I have to say when I first heard about pin trading it was in the 90's and they just began then. That's when the pins were tiny. Now? They're now a lot bigger!

Re: Pin Pics Trading: Good or Bad?
I have never traded on the Pin Pics website. They do have a pretty neat website with so many pictures of pins available, and that is what I do the most there.
I think that website may deserve a decent "buyer beware", or better "trader beware", because there isn't much protecting you as a trader. I would try and trade only with someone reputable, but I am not sure if there is a nice way to determine that...

Re: Pin Pics Trading: Good or Bad?
Yes, because pin pics is a branch of dizpins.com. Which no offense but DC runs things much more smoothly then they do. The only thing pin pics has for protection is a reference page through dizpins where after you do a trade you put that it went through good or it went bad. It isn't very effective at all though and that's why I prefer ebay with mailing pins.

Re: Pin Pics Trading: Good or Bad?
I've traded tons of pins with people all over the world through Pinpics and never had a problem. The Reference Center on Dizpins works much like ebay's feedback system - without the numeric rating. If the person proposing a trade has a good history, or at least many recent trades listed, you can pretty much count on them. If trading a really valuable pin - or with a newbie - you can always do a third party trade. Each of you mails your pin to a Moderator - they mail them out once both are received. It costs you a second postage but you can't buy piece of mind like that! I've found most people in this hobby/addiction are far more trustworthy online than some of the ones I've tried to trade with in person! Isn't that weird?

Ya it is! The only thing that I don't like about the ref. center with dizpins is that it doesn't have any fraud protection program! If it had that it would be exactly like ebay!
