Description: The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World;by Bob Sehlinger

This annually updated blockbuster is everyone's favorite insider guide to the ins and outs of Orlando, one of the most-visited destinations in the U.S. Our team of anonymous inspectors has checked out every inch of the Disney parks, and they've been completely honest and objective in their evaluations of every ride, show, hotel, and restaurant. With the Unofficial Guide in hand, readers know they're maximizing their time, enjoying all the fun, and getting their money's worth.

Pros: Honest, Complete
Cons: Too darn big

I find the Unoffical Guide to be a tremendous resource. It's completely honest about the WDW experience... Some find it negative or overly critical, but as a potential visitor to WDW I want to know about all of the possible pitfalls. I do admit that I sometimes find the book a bit too rigid at times - like the touring plans. I've been to WDW enough to know that you have to stay flexible; no plan is perfect.

Also, I'm finding the latest edition to be just too darn big. It's 818 pages, and although it's well organized, I sometimes have problems finding what I'm looking for.

I highly recommend the Unofficial Guide, but I have to admit that I like the Passporter better. The Passporter might not be as complete as the Unofficial, but it is very thorough and is smaller and easier to use.

Pros: Pretty accurate, very complete, reader comments are helpful
Cons: Needs some new reader comments

The best Disney guide book I've read. This book has great reader comments, but I don't really have any use for the touring plans. Just use them to figure out exactly what you want to hit, then make sure you hit what you want to. This book is usually pretty close to accurate about its ratings; there are a few I disagree with, but less than other guide books.

A good read for the plane ride down.

Pros: Wonderful information
Cons: Big!!

Great book. Really worth purchasing. I think it's updated twice a year. It IS a large book and you might not need all the info it gives, but different folks are looking for different info, so.......this is a good one.

Pros: Details
Cons: non- Disney detail

Highly recommend this guide. If I had to complain, and I will, it has too much information. It breaks down every hotel you could possibly wish to explore.

Pros: Great detail, no-nonsense opinions
Cons: Big, harsh at times

This is my favorite guide book! I've read several editions cover to cover and never fail to find something I didn't know about vacationing in WDW (and I'm not a newbie!). Sometimes I feel they lose track of the big picture of visiting WDW and thus are a bit harsh on "classic" WDW attractions and eateries. Most people adore the classic attractions, cheesy or not, and the authors seem to want to analyze them too much. And, with the masses that WDW serves food to everyday, I think they do a darn good job with the quality! All in all, it's an honest, thorough report on WDW and how to attack it (yes, it must be attacked) so that you have the best time possible!

Pros: filled with all the information you will need to plan a sucessful WDW trip
Cons: I have nothing negative to say about this guide

My trip planning starts and ends with the Unofficial guide to WDW. I purchase one ever single year to get all the latest information. I look forward to each new edition every August. I cannot count the number of times that I refer to that book in a given year...the pages are dog-earred and the book looks worn by the time I am finished with it.

People think it's harsh and critical, but I just find it honest. I like and appreciate how they quote letters from readers who disagree with them right in their book. They are not all roses and sunshine and that is the kind of guide book that will properly prepare you for a trip to WDW especially if it's your first time going or your first time booking your own trip. The other guide books pump you up to go, but don't tell you the reality of an unplanned WDW trip. I have been on 10+ trips and still refer to that guide's opinion on many things.

I HIGHLY reccomend this guide book to anyone who is planning a trip to the mouse. Let's face it, a WDW trip without some kind of plan is a disaster waiting to happen. This book will help you avoid the disaster and prepare you to have some fun.
