WDW Website Reservation Engine

FYI:
The engine is down, has been for a couple of hours. I was all geared up to make a reservation today. The site has gone from slooooow at 9:00 a.m.cst to "due to high demand, please be patient at 9:30 a.m. cst tp we are dpwn for maintainence at 9:45 a.m. cst.

Any body have an idea how long they might be down? I know new systems have bugs that have to be worked out. I'm just bummed out because I can't get all my costs for leisuely comparison and discussion with the family this morning. Patience isn't always my long suit. Guess I;m just jonesing for my WDW fix!! lol

Re: WDW Website Reservation Engine

Reservations online and on the phone have been down for days. Today is the day they are switching to the new magic plans. Welcome to DC...I love your avatar.

Re: WDW Website Reservation Engine

The only thing I can say is to be patient. There are millions of people out there that have been waiting for this day so that they can book their vacation under the new plan. Disney's server is usually fairly heavy with traffic, today it is overwhelmed. I am sure that Disney's entire IT team is at work today, and fixing all the bugs.

Re: WDW Website Reservation Engine

I checked about 40 minutes ago, and it was still down. If you want an aprox. price. www.mousesavers.com has a way to calculate the price of the new package. It goes something like this

1) Take the rack rate price of your hotel room and multiply it by the number of nights you are staying
2) Multiply it by 1.115 for tax, unless you are staying at the AllStars then multiply by 1.13
3) Divide that by 2
4) Then add the price of the Magic Your Way Tickets you want, and multiply that per person
5) If you got the "Plus Dining" part, add 35 dollars per night of your stay per person
VOULA!! You have your approx. price. Disney uses some sort of Mickey Mouse math, so they will get a slightly different price, but this is the jist of it.

Re: WDW Website Reservation Engine

I just tried the site again and still down. I then went to the UK WDW reservation site and it priced out 2 rooms at pop century, to include myself DH, DD 9, DD5, and DD3 for 6 nights, premium 7 day park pass and dining option, for a total of 1783 eruo. I am guessing that us dollars would be roughly 1.75x this(if my figuring is right). It sounds like a great deal, I really only need a 5 day ph pass though. Right now I have my room reservation at pop at a great rate of $59 a night per room, but i really want the dining option. Does any one know if I can add the dining only or do I have to book the room and passes to get the dining option?

Re: WDW Website Reservation Engine

No, that is the catch you have to add the tickets too. I wanted to do the same thing.

Re: WDW Website Reservation Engine

OK, I am having troubles with it, but the 1st screen gives you a list of resorts and aprox prices, then you choose your tickets, and then it gives me an error message.

BTW: Swan and Dolphin are on the Package list.

Re: WDW Website Reservation Engine

I got it to work, but yes it is VERY, VERY slow. When you get the message to Call them, keep reading because it gives you an option to continue anways. If you have dialup or a slow computer it simply will not work for you yet.

Re: WDW Website Reservation Engine

I got through and got some quotes, but I sure can't see how the packages will save me any money. I usually buy an AP so I can get at least 2 trips out of it and use the discount for the hotel. If I do that, then my way comes out cheaper. I wish they would give the meal option to AP holders though...that could save me some money!
