News on Busses from WL

I just read that WL now has direct bus service to MK, wheras it used to only have launch service, or bus service to the TTC.

Fort Wilderness guests can access this bus using the Orange bus whose ruote now ends at WL, and the transfer to the bus to the MK.

Re: News on Busses from WL

Excellent! I am almost 100% decided to stay there for part of our trip, so anything like that is good news.

Re: News on Busses from WL

I was wondering for those that stayed at WL, what the transportation is like? We waited over 20min for the boat one night to go over to take a look but gave up b/c it was taking way too long. We never had to wait more than 10min for a boat to the Poly or our busses back to POFQ so I was curious if anyone has had problems waiting so long for WL busses/boats? We were thinking of staying there on our next trip but transportation is a HUGE issue with me and DH and now we aren't so sure.

Re: News on Busses from WL

When we stayed at WL almost 2 years ago the transportation was awesome. We didn't wait for a boat or bus more than 10 minutes but one time. We were so pleased with our stay that we are going back for a week this summer. I will say that transportation is the biggest gripe I read about WL, it seems it's hit or miss sometimes.

That's good news. I can't believe that they haven't done this sooner.

Re: News on Busses from WL

I stayed there in 2002 and never had an issue with the transportation. I can't remember waiting more than a few or more minutes. I am glad to see they are adding to the MK transportation for the WL and FW though. Sharing the transportation with another resort is a drag at times,so anything that speeds it up is great.

Re: News on Busses from WL

This is good to hear!
Iam 99% sure Iam going to book WL for my next trip. I wanted a monorail hotel but I just can't afford it! So WL is the next best.
I will try the transp. or I will drive to the Contemp and take the monorail.
By the time I get my DM going in the morning (or late morning I should say), I want to get where Iam going in like 5 minutes!!! I hate to wait, and haven't taken the bus for that reason, I hate to wait for it to come and then take forever to get there because the bus has to make like a 100 stops!!
So last year I drove everywhere or drove to a monorail hotel and jumped on.
I did park at the MGM and Epcot because they were nearby and with my AAA parking pass, parking is superb at Epcot!!!! You get like front row parking!!!

Re: News on Busses from WL

Give the transportation a try at WL, we found it to be great. We took the launch to MK and CR (to get the monorail) and a bus every place else.

I am glad the is a bus to MK now but I think the launch is still the better way to get from WL to MK.

I agree with you Steph. My DD liked the launch and the duck/fish feeding you could do while waiting for the launch. I thought it was efficient enough. It was the same as any other resort I ever stayed at except for AKL, which I found to be a little faster. That may have something to do with WL sharing buses with FW and AKL not sharing with anyone. I still think it was fast enough. It's free transportation.
