Re: Stitch Ride

I don't know what AE was like but from all I read here, folks miss that ride.

The Stitch ride is so awful, my boys (both 11) love Stitch, but had nothing good to say about this ride. Neither did we, the parents.
We hated it and would not spend a minute in it - not even if we could walk on without wait.

Re: Stitch Ride

My 4 yo DS did not like the Stitch ride. He is a HUGE Stitch fan and said that the ride was horrible. He said he would have rather ridden the Buzz Lightyear ride more times than ride Stitch again.

Re: Stitch Ride

We rode it once and that was enough. We could have ridden it many times with no wait and it wasn't worth it....it's boring.

Re: Stitch Ride

Do not wait! But if the lines are not long it worth doing once. OUr whole family thought somone dropped the ball. But my Five year old still likes it. They do a great job with the characters looking so real. And the pre show is nice. Stitch looks so real. But that the only good thing.

Re: Stitch Ride

I would do it at least once because everyone has their own opinions.......I LOVED AE....loved it loved it.....
I rode Stitch...and LOVED IT MORE........
You just have to go in with an open mind and form your own opinion..if you love it..then whoohoo! and if you hate it...well you can join the rather large club!
But at least give it a shot...for Stitch's sake!

Re: Stitch Ride

I experieced Stitch's Great Escape on my recent trip to WDW, and I must say that this ride needs a lot of work. Right now Stitch is in Version 3.0, with newly installed projections of Stitch running around the theater. I feel that they need to shut the ride down for a month or two to make adjustments and add new effects that children and adults will enjoy.

As a sidenote, the chilidog smell was so horrible that I couldn't get rid of it all day long.

Re: Stitch Ride

It may or may not be a tad scary for a four year old. You are in total darkness. I would first see how he reacts to other dark rides before taking him on this one. I did not experience a long wait for this attraction. I went as soon as the rope dropped. Whenever you want to do a major attactions, you should go straight to it as soon as the park opens guaranteeing that you get to do it without waiting. Matter-of-fact, you can do at least 6 attrations before the crowds get there if you are on hand at rope drop.

Re: Stitch Ride

Though we, too, weren't fans of this ride, do try it and form your own opinion. As Dana said, it may be too intense for a 4 year old. Each person must sit in their own seat and a shoulder harness holds you firmly in place. If your child gets scared, you won't be able to comfort him, except maybe holding his hand. This is just something to consider. Let's put it this way: if the line is 20 minutes or less, try it. If it's longer than that, you can skip it with the reassurance that you haven't missed anything too exciting.

Re: Stitch Ride

I hate Stitch and thought the ride was very blah.

But, try to ride it anyway. If there's a short wait, go for it. Anything longer than 1/2 hour is a no.

Re: Stitch Ride

My 4 yo who is usually fine on any dark ride DID NOT like this one because you are confined to your own seat (he couldn't get into my lap)...

I thought the ride was lacking (to sayt the LEAST) and we will NOT be riding it again...there's so many more wonderful things to spend my time doing while at WDW.

Re: Stitch Ride

I think you should definitely try it for yourself. I thought the Stitch animatronic was awesome... I go on the ride just to see him. But the ride itself seems like they rushed through it to get it open. I have seen times when the line was wrapped around the building and other times I walked right on. Like others have said though, it can be scary for younger kids since they're held down into their seat and it gets pretty dark and loud.

Re: Stitch Ride

My 3 year-old DD didn't care for it one bit. She was too small for the seat and didn't get the full effect of it either. If you had been on AE encounter you really can see the similarities too. We used FP and also babyswap so we didn't have a wait and the standby line was 45 minutes. If you have small children I would advise you to use this method as often as you can.

Re: Stitch Ride

My 4 year old is a Stitch fan. Up until the attraction that was all he kept talking about. After our trip he has neve mentioned it again. He had no desire to ride again either. Not that it scared him, he just did not find it interesting.

Keep in mind, they have added several new elements to improve the attraction recently. New ending, more effects, etc...
