Narnia walk-through at MGM
From www.screamscape.com
Park News - (6/22/05) Screamscape has learned that Disney is planning on using all three sound stages (or whatever isn’t being used) to put on a big walkthrough attraction about the filming of the Chronicles of Narnia films. This will likely open for the holiday season in time for the opening of the film. Sounds great! I hope that Disney will eventually turn these soundstages into drak rides (like Monsters Inc.), but for now that will do. What do you think?

Sounds like lots of fun! Can't wait to see it myself. (Although, I must admit, that Haunted Mansion set in MGM was really lame.)

Re: Narnia walk-through at MGM
Currently the only Soundstage available is #4. This is the Soundstage that the Haunted Mansion Movie Set was built on.
Plans have the new set opening for the holiday season, construction has yet to be started as a production has just ended and the stage area needs to be cleared. |

I really hope I get to see the Narnia walkthrough - they are such great books.
Why don't they film actual shows/movies on these sound stages? Were they ever meant to be used for that purpose? STitch - I love the avatar, very cool! WElcome to DC!

They film quite a bit on the Soundstages, alot of it isn't public knowledge. Trying to control the general public while they are trying to film on a tight schedule is tough. Sounstage 1 was famouse for Shena Warrior Princess and the newer version of the Mickey Mouse Club. With "Who Wants to be a Millionaire- Play It" occupying Soundstages 2 and 3 there hasn't been any large scale productions scheduled, mostly commercials and special events. |

I'm all for something new. The haunted mansion set was pretty cool.

MGM is no longer an active film park like it use to be. They may tape a special, like in any of the parks, but there are no longer major movies or tv series taped there. That time has come and passed, and it seems Universal is heading that way now too.

Re: Narnia walk-through at MGM
Why has the time passed?
The newer Mickey Mouse Club was filmed there? The one with Britany and Justin? I so watched that when I was a teenager! I remember going to MGM once, and Tom Hanks was doing some HBO special, and they were working on the set...maybe for some Apollo stuff? But not for the movie, but like, for the making of the movie on HBO?

Re: Narnia walk-through at MGM
Yes!! I loved the Narnia books! I didn't even know they had a HM movie set... maybe this one will be better. Hopefully I can get to Disney to see it over the holidays.

It would be cool to walk through the wardrobe into a snowy forest!
