Discovery Island, a "Lost" attraction?
Has anyone heard that they may be planning to do something with Discovery Island? The rumor is that they are thinking about making it into some sort of "Lost" attraction according to an article in Budget Travel magazine I received yesterday. It has a pretty good article about 2 guys that are huge Disney fans that know everything Disney and even give guided tours themselves(which Disney frowns on if money exchanges hands) in the parks and one mentioned that little tidbit. Did anyone ever get to tour the Island before they "closed" it down? I did the very first time I visited WDW in 1992 as part of a day I also visited River Country.

Re: Discovery Island, a "Lost" attraction?
I haven't herd anything of that sort but I will be passing by the old Discovery Island on th boat ride to Fort Wilderness Campgrounds so I'll let you know if I see any activity. Last time I was there in March I did not see anything going on there. I have been to Discovery I Island several time before they shut it down. It was never a favorite of mine because they would bring you there and drop you off and there wasn't a whole lot to do or see unless you liked looking at birds and stuff.

I made up a rumor about that last April 1st. I hope nobody took that as fact and went with it. lol
Then again... maybe I sparked some imagineers into more possibilities.

Everything I have heard says it is now a bird sanctuary.

Re: Discovery Island, a "Lost" attraction?
Before Discovery Island closed they were looking to make it into a real-life version of the computer game MYST. But, obviously, that never materialized.
