Disney VISA Card

For anyone who is interested, if you go to:

http://disney.go.com/visa/disneysecret/index.html

you can register to have an email sent to you when you can apply for the new card. This should happen by March 4. If you apply between March 4 & (I think) March 23, you can get "Day 1" embossed in the section that says Member Since. I still don't know anything about what the rewards will be or the interest rates (although it's been my experience that reward cards have high interest rates), but there will be no annual fee.

Just thought some of you might be waiting for this like I am.:) :) :angel :angel

Oooops, it's March 4 - March 24 for the "Day 1" thing. Plus I forgot to mention, we don't have a 6 digit code, so just go down to the option list & pick other. It takes you right to the registration form. It does say it will have a "competitive APR", but who knows what that means!

I think you also get a commemorative pin, for what that is worth.

Yeah, but I think that's once you get the card & use it the first time. But you've got to figure only so many people are going to have a Day 1 pin......

Thanks so much. I have never been so excited about a Credit Card before. :dazed

You don't think the Disney Credit Card will be discontinued do you? Sorta like the way Sears is converting from the Sears Card to the Sears Mastercard. Will the Disney Card become a Disney Visa in the future?

I personally haven't heard anything about that, but you can only use the Disney Card at Disney specific places. The VISA is a lot more flexible & convenient. Since I put everything (even my Starbucks in the morning!) on a reward card anyway & then just pay it off at the end of the month so I'm not paying interest charges, I can't wait. I love feeling like I'm getting something for nothing:!: :!: :!:

Well, that is why Sears went to Sears Mastercard, cause the Sears card was Sears specific, so I think Disney may do this too, but maybe not. I do know I will be charging my Disney Visa instead of my Disney Card from now on. I'm like you... I pay off each month, so not only will I get the $100 Disney store Average each month, but other places as well. :) :) :)

Yeah, but Sears still kept their Sears only card. I wouldn't get the MC (since my DH works for VISA!!!!) but I've still got the Sears card since sometimes they give 10% off deals for using your card. So I don't know if Disney will keep theirs or not. I do know that there are people who can't qualify for a VISA card that can qualify for store specific cards since the credit requirements are lower. That in & of itself may be why Sears (& Disney?) keep their own cards.

ilvminnie, thanks so much for sharing that information. I registered to receive the info as soon as it is available, too. I have never before witnessed so much interest in the launching of a credit card! It seems like so many of us can't wait to learn more about it. I sure hope that its use will offer some good Disney-related rewards!

Ditto, lopo. I was just in contact with someone from Bank One the other day & I think they're a little surprised by the enthusiasm, too. I'm just dying to find out what the rewards are though, & she wouldn't tell me. It just builds the suspense even more I think.:)

I certainly agree, ilvminnie! Since there are so many of us Disney fans looking forward to Bank One's issuing this card, the constant speculating about the card and the rewards it may offer are worth a lot of free advertising for them, too. And, I am sure that it feeds the frenzy for folks to want a Disney card, too!

I registered, now I just hope they approve me... I'm 19, and I have good credit with the cards that I have, but the last time I aplied for a card they turned me down for not having enough credit
