Upcoming Toy Story Character Bfast?

Read this at Mouseplanet:

To Epcot... and Beyond! – We hear that Disney is planning a character breakfast with Buzz Lightyear and friends, to begin sometime in 2003 at the Odyssey Restaurant in Epcot.

Wow, I will let you know if I hear anything official. The Odyssey is going to have to go through some major rehab though, it needs a total facelift.

Gasp! Shock! Interesting.

I would love to see that location better used, but Toy Story Characters in EPCOT. Yes, they are popular, and I would do a Breakfast with them, but EPCOT? Seems like Disney Studios would fit better, still it would be great for that location to have a big draw. I have heard sick rumors about Toy Story being involved with the Wonders of Life in the future, so who knows. What kind of time frame or you hearing?

At least they are doing something with the odyssey--it was always a place we just a)went around going to test track b)went around going to the bathrooms or c)went around going to the baby center. I always thought it would have been a great specialty event location. Was it ever used for that?

A weird question...

Is the Odyssey Restaurant a working, functioning restaurant? I don't think I've ever seen anyone walk into or out of it.

I thinks a Toy Story character breakfast would be great. My son loves these movies!!! I'm not so sure of the park, though. WDWFan, you are right. I'd think Disney Studios would be the better place for Toy Story! I'd love to hear more about this though. We're going in June. Is it too much to hope it will be up for business by then?:hmmm

Well, it wasn't long before the Epcot Princess Breakfast was rumored and then was put into action. Of course, the facility (Akershus) was ready to go. Heck, I'm not even sure Odyssey is in working shape and Mickey seems to think it would need alot of work.

I would love to see a Toy Story breakfast...or even lunch! Especially if Jessie was there - boy my DD wouldn't want to eat anywhere else. But I agree with Mickey; the Odyssey would have to have a lot of work done to it. Every time we walk by it my DH says "That's really become an eyesore...they ought to do something with it." I can see the Toy Story working in EPCOT though...the Imagination thing with the technology (Buzz is a "SPACE" toy anyway!).

My daughter would love it too (she counts Jessie as one of the Princesses). I wonder why they aren't using the Pizza Planet and doing a buffet like Donald's Breakfastausaurus? They've got the room for it.

:DWow that would be neat! My boys would love it. The first time they saw Buzz and Woody at MGM they were floored. Jessie was at the gate and she ran around with my youngest who was in his stroller! WHAT A PHOTO OP!! LOL :)

I would LOVE a Toy Story Breakfast. Maegan was Jessie for Halloween, and she has always loved all the characters. I think this would go over really well. Can't wait to hear more.

:nervous Does someone know in what part of 2003 they would do this? Has anyone went close or see the Odyssey in past weeks if they were making renovation or not?

I hope this is true, when we were there in December, my DS got mad that we ate breakfast with the princesses twice and he thinks he is too old for Pooh & Gang, and he's seen Mickey, Pluto & Goofy a zillion time for breakfast.

We are going again in Jan. 2004 so I hope the Toy Story breakfast comes and stays until then. My son will be extremely excited!!!

Thanks for the info. I hope it's true :p !!

A toy story bfast would be very cool, but I'm still waiting for a Villain's bfast. I think that would be really cool. The problem is where to put it. Oh well, a guy can dream, can't he...
