AKL & DVC... becoming friends! For real!

I just cannot hold this in any longer. I was SO excited I nearly passed out off of my chair. Accourding to an EXTREMELY reliable WDW source (an imagineer, uh um) AKL WILL be getting a DVC section!!!!

I REALLY do not want to mention the name of the person who told me b/c once they realized nobody around them knew what (s)he was talking about the source instantly said, "OH, is that not out yet?!?!"

Well, I guess it is now. It got brought up during our brief discussion on the Contemporary addition for DVC and although they didn't give any other details that was enough info for me!

AKL is our FAVORITE resort and one of the reasons we took so long to decide on the DVC was b/c we were a little sad it might mean less time spent staying at AKL. Even though (s)he said it was for sure I guess nothing at WDW can be 100%, especially considering (s)he mentioned that (s)he's been working on a project for 7 months that just got shelved. Hmmm, I wonder what that was?

Anyway, accourding to a WDW Imagineer, who shall remain nameless, AKL is getting a DVC wing.

Ooooh!! I wonder which side of the resort it will be on. Probably the one by the pool/food... . I can only imagine how cool the decor and furnishings will be in the villas.

I was at EPCOT on 8/19 and while strollering (sp.) around my sleeping 2 year old daughter, I stopped and chatted with the CM's at the DVC kiosk. I asked the two guys about the Contemporary and AK wings and they said they were in the works. I knew about the Contemporary but this was the first time anyone actually said the AK wing was in the works.

OK, I may just be adding fuel to the fire here but when I did some searching on the topic this is what I found.

Could this possibly mean that they are converting some rooms into DVC sale models at AKL? Read carefully the items in red boxes. HHmhmhMhm.

I found this on-line so I obviously can't back the validity of the paperwork but DEFINATELY interesting to say the least.

OK, maybe I am jsut amusing myself here, haha, but I went to the Orange County Comptroller's website where you can seach documents submitted by "Disney Vacation Development" and I found the one listed above for Animal Kingdom.

It is file number 20060474439, submitted on 7/19/2006.

I am going to put this in my Trip Report but I also got to meet and talk to current WDW Ambassador Marjorie Colas at the DVC Summer Block Party. Obviously they are the ultimate diplomats and would never talk rumors but she DID say that she is "going to be heavily involved in the DVC for the remainer of her Ambassadorship." Well, in my opinion, an ambassador wouldn't be involved in something unless it was active, had projects unfolding, or news to diseminate to the world.

So, Llama, apparantly SOMEONE is feeling that DVC is proving a great success. haha.
