new indoor coaster at MGM

From Sreamscape.com Home

Ratatouille Coaster - Rumor - (8/22/07) Screamscape sources have informed us that Walt Disney World management has just approved the budget to fast-track construction of a new indoor spinning roller coaster based on the film Ratatouille. As rumored for the past few weeks, the ride system will be based on the coaster design used for Crush’s Coaster that just opened earlier this summer at Walt Disney Studios Paris. This is a customized varient of the Maurer-Sohne SC-2000 layout. The new coaster is expected to be placed in the Soundstage One area right next to Toy Story Mania and construction could start within the next six months.

This rumor is ratatouille. MGM needs it but what's the next rumor, a "duck and run" attraction where you have to avoid falling pieces of the sky based on the Chicken Little movie?

That would be RnRC, they only made it look like LA for entertainment purposes.

OMG!!! ROFL ROFL , that would not be a coaster, that would be a form of torture only to be used for the hardest of criminals in a test chamber for punishment purposes only, lol.

Re: new indoor coaster at MGM

when you think about it any coaster based on a highway would consist of sit 4 minutes, creep 10 feet, sit, creep, sit, creep, merge from construction lane, creep, sit, creep, sit, creep, sit,
The ride would be 20 minutes long and the show building would only need to be the size on a restaurant.

People in NJ don't wait for anything. We ain't sittin' for 10 minutes and creepin' for 2. I definately think RnRC is SOO much more NJ Turnpike/Parkway, than 10 in LA (is that the Highway it's supposed to be in the ride?) Anyway, anything I experienced with driving in LA, or heck even I-4 in Orlando, or other highways in the country have been like what you described... sit, creep, sit, creep. RnRC is defiantely more the style of NJ drivers.

How about just renaming Test Track? Then no one would notice when it was broke down!

You are right. The company I used to work for was headquarter in Parsippany and would have to drive from my home in CT several times a year and I never got stuck in NJ. CT, NY sit, creep, sit, creep,
I can tell you I4 gets like that especially around the Universal area to downtown Orlando but part of that is because they are always expanding the roads in and around 4 to handle the traffic as it grows. Our old well established states don't have that luxury.

Re: new indoor coaster at MGM

I am not a very big fan of the newer Disney films...and maybe it's just me, but I don't like them in the parks either. I completely understand why they are there, but I'm a fan of the 'classic' Disney.

Anyways, I hope this rumor isnt true!

I'm for anything that makes MGM more interesting. Right now its probably my least favorite park.

I agree to a point, I wouldn't say it is my least favorite I still think that despite EE AK needs more attractions to keep me in the park longer. However MGM has removed as much as they added. They are definitely trying to turn the park around and realize that most people are no longer walking anywhere past Sunset Blvd. I remember back in 93 how much fun it was to see actual shows being taped, a back stage tour that featured relevant props from TV and movies. (like seeing the Golden Girls house while it was still on the air). Monster Sound Stage was fun and I liked the show that made it look like you were in TV shows. They still did feature animation on property and the tour seemed like it had more substance. It was cool to see what they were working on each year.

Re: new indoor coaster at MGM

DW was telling me that she heard on some podcast somewhere that there is also talk about a monsters inc rollercoaster based on the door scene at the end (will be similar to the big bad wolf in BG) has anyone heard about this, or should i just chalk it up to my wife being insane?
