yes we did- we used it mostly for fine dining since it was free. We ate at CG for one night and Lecellier for the other night. It worked out perfect~

Free dining is usually only offered during the slow weeks, is that correct?

It's only offered during August and September. Not sure what the dates will be this year. We'll find out soon enough!

Your dates may actually be a little late to qualify.

Do a search, there are several threads about this topic. If you don't find what you are looking for, you can ask specific questions.

Basically, it is a promotion that has been offered in past years to guests who have purchased packages (room, tickets, and dining) and visited during a specific (generally slower) time of year. If you fulfill all the requirements, they have offered the dining plan for free.

Usually, but since the free dining has been offered it has not been a slow as it once was. Although it is still slower than most other times of the year.

Re: Free Dining 2008?

WOW! I too have never heard of this and am very intrigued by the thought. But being a DVC Mber I guess I lose out because we don't do the packages. Maybe some year when we want to stay out of the villas. I definetly want to stay at Poly and save the points for another year. About the Labor Day discussion...I went on my honeymoon in 2003. August 30-Sept 7. Once Labor day was done it was great we practically walked right on all our rides and now my DH refuses to go during busier times. We also went in 2007 the last few days of Sept and 1st week of Oct. I loved it...first off do the Halloween Party, there are only a certain # of tickets sold and it is so exciting and slower. Regular hours during that time were moderate waits. But remeber all wekends are busier that weekdays and reservatiosn are a must for sit down meals. I've been in June and it was crazy compared to these other times.
Do you have to call to get the dates for free dining once released? Or is it posted somewhere?

Re: Free Dining 2008?

I can say that for bounce-back free dining the first day is August 30th. I wanted to book for August 29th, but the CM said that the promotion started the next day. I would assume that if/when free dining is announced, the dates should be similar?

Re: Free Dining 2008?

Mine is in third grade (fourth next year for our trip) and we dont worry about it. I am in college also and I take time in the evenings or morning to get my work done. Last year the free dining was announced at the end of March and booked in April for August/September. I hope they do it again, if not we wont be going this year. That really made our trip fantastic last year.

Re: Free Dining 2008?

Just saw on Touringplans.com that it is rumored that the free dining plan will be offered starting on April 10th, but it's just a rumor. Hopefully it's a rumor that's true!!

Re: Free Dining 2008?

Don't want to sound dumb, but.....

When they have free dining, do you for example only pay for resort and tickets you want. No extra charges are added at all for the dining?
