That is horrifying! I once saw two women at Peter Pan get into a fight over a stroller situation - they almost came to blows before a CM stepped between them - which is more that should be expect of a CM - both of them were considerably bigger than him. What was really distressing was seeing all the children staring at these two.

I would love to hear an update on this story. If the story was complete, then that woman deserves more than a year for attacking someone that way, so I'm glad she didn't plea. She must have some mental problems, so maybe a hospital would be a better place for her. I hope I can google her and find out what happend....

It is just sad that grown ups act like this. And to add insult to injury she was with her Church group? Now that is sad, where is the love? I know people start to feel entitled after long waits and such but every body is waiting . . . WWJD or better yet WWMD?

I can see this happening...honestly. I don't excuse it, but I can see where an unstable mind would snap. You are in the parks all day getting shoved and pushed....people little or no common courtesy...you do this for days and days...finally you had it. The next person who cuts in front of you is the victim...again, not excusing it, but can understand where an unstable person would go nuts. I have had my share of confrontations with rude guests..I have no issues calling them on their rudeness and being totally "jersey" about it. I would never strike someone....they would have to attack me or my child. I am seriously thinking that if that woman would have pushed my kid into the rail, that I would have been the one with the assult charge though..

I hope I am not stepping out of line here, but after watching the video I think there is more to this story than is being said. There are after all two sides to every story and although any evidence of violence is disturbing, I felt that the injuries shown were somewhat superficial and her claims of brain damage, heart problems, and two operations on her legs made her story alot less credible. I also think a possible sentance of 15 years is astonishing.

That is terrible, I hope I never witness this. I feel extremely bad for the woman's children, to have to witness their mom getting beat up. It still amazes me how people can go ballistic over the simplest of things. Especially at Disney world, it's not like she would have gotten finished any faster or the best teacup by being first. They are all the same and the ride starts at the same time. I have definitely experienced rude people at disney, but never to this extreme.

Dixie, I feel the same way. Unless the woman had a baseball bat with her, I can't see how the victim suffered all that she claims. Time will tell.

Is this the direction the Disney parks are heading? No security, no one watching out for this kind of thing? I remember when the worst thing to happen at a Disney park was someone stepping on your foot by accident! I was at DL two years ago and when my DH and I were getting on the tram some young guy tried to push me off the tram step and get on in front of me. I stood my ground and he was a BIG guy! Towered over me, and I'm 5'10"! But I said "excuse me!" and started to get on and he just stood there, blocking my way. So I said "EXCUSE ME!!, louder and managed to get on. Then he said something about me I didn't hear, but my DH who was behind this big thug DID hear and then he told him to watch his mouth and this guy starts threatening and I'm wondering, doesn't Disney have anybody to oversee these trams and such? This is getting to be a more and more dangerous world. These parks need to step up and at least TRY to provide a safe environment.

The World is changing and not for the better.

It's no surprise that even WDW is no longer immune from these ignorant oafs.

WDW has to respond positively and introduce low profile security staff to ensure that episodes like this don't get out of hand.

If there's one place on Earth that you should feel safe and protected then it's WDW. I'm sure that most visitors go there to get away from the reality of the outside world. Disney has a duty of care to ensure that this fantasy is not shattered by a small minority of ill mannered idiots.

It's a very sad day when something like this happens. I've seen parents get worked up about their place in line and quite frankly I'm not about to let someone else determine what kind of day I'm going to have so I just let them by. I really hope that this person gets jail time so she has time to reflect on what she's done.

Ok, think of all the people who enjoy Disney;
Think of all the acreage it covers;
All of the buildings & lots etc.

Compare the level of safety to any town in any country and show me how it can be done better. These are very isolated incidents. And they do happen and they will. Disney has no obligation/duty to do what it does better.

It does have to do the best they can - and the level they achieve is greater than most of the world.
