Re: Rumor: ADR's back to 90 days?

I can go either way too, I didn't mind it being 180 days at all but 90 days is just as convenient for me. I just hope everything stays safe & non-confusing during any switch overs.

90 days would work for me too. Either or. As long as its consistent.

Re: Rumor: ADR's back to 90 days?

Well, we rarely book anything more than 90 days in advance.... lately, our dining has been very last-minute. And although we can't get everything we want, we always end up with great dining.

So, I wouldn't mind if it went back to 90 days. It doesn't exactly affect me... yet.

I agree. I was just having a similar discussion about this topic with DH last night while we were planning for our upcoming ADR 180 day mark. Some of the things we will be doing we won't be sure of until later in the school year because the band's schedule, so in this case, the 90 day mark will work better for us ~ but actually I kinda like to have them done at the 180 days because once that 90 hurdle has been reached things seem to fly by.

I hope they don't confuse things either because this change over appears to be occuring right before "MY" 180 mark for this upcoming trip!

Re: Rumor: ADR's back to 90 days?

I honestly love how easy going all of you are. Anywhere else you might see folks acting differently!!

Ok, here is the story. Disney is going to be phasing in a new Dining Reservation System. The program that we are currently using is terribly old and outdated. During the transition time most reservations will go down to 90 days. I am told that it will eventually be brought back up to 180 days once all Cast Members are trained and on board. More details as the new program rolls out!

Re: Rumor: ADR's back to 90 days?

I kind of prefer the 90 day window; I just have a hard time planning 6 months out where I want to eat.

It could work. I don't foresee it as a deal breaker or anything . . .

Re: Rumor: ADR's back to 90 days?

I like the 90-day ADR option better too. I think with the 180-day window a lot of ADRs are booked for speculated trips that don't actually pan out. That can make for a lot of cancelled ADRs for time slots that other guests may have really wanted or needed. And who knows how many of these ADRs don't get cancelled or don't get cancelled promptly upon trip cancellation? I think this would happen less at the 90-day window because at 90 days most people know if their vacation is a sure thing or not.

I just got off the phone with DVC Member Services and the CM there said no announcement has been made that they are aware of about changing back to 90 days. He did say that sometimes the CMs are the last to know though

Re: Rumor: ADR's back to 90 days?

I am OK with either one b/c I will already know where I want to eat by 180 no matter what BUT I do kinda hope they go back to 90 days for a little while b/c when I go with my cousins in May it will take them forever to pick where they will want to eat!

Re: Rumor: ADR's back to 90 days?

I'm just guessing that WDW tracked the number of reservation changes and no shows and realized they could staff phones with fewer people by going 90 days out.

This is sooooooooo true! There have been things posted on here I have mentioned to CMs and I get the blank, blink, blink look . . . and that they know nothing . . . and then WHAM it happens!
