I believe it is. I had read on another site that people were expecting to be announced any day.

Other parks list their tickets as "less then Disney" but they give you A LOT less too! IMHO!
I agree that you get a lot for your money at WDW, plus these other parks don't actually turn out to be less when you figure out the value of a multi-day ticket. Yes, a one day ticket is pricey, but they end up significantly less the more days you pay for.

Hopefully you can get them all to do it now that there is sort of a deadline.

Re: Ticket prices going up.

Wow! Before long tickets will be $90 per day. Friends of mine already moan and groan about ticket prices and will normally just do one park their whole trip and spend the rest at Universal or something else. I guess if I wasn't such a fan I'd be complaining too. That is a lot of money for a family to spend on one thing for vacation.

Re: Ticket prices going up.

If I buy AP's (with the DVC discount) before the prices go up is it active from when I buy it or from when I use it first?

So, is this rumor or is it fact? We were buying the 10day tickets and wondered what the increase amount might be to see if it really will impact the price that much.

Re: Ticket prices going up.

Ok, so obviously I'm the only one who doesn't know this, but I had no idea I could buy tickets so far in advance! We are planning a trip for February 2009 and have already reserved our room, but were waiting for new prices to be released before upgrading it to a full vacation package (with tickets, dining and travel).

At the risk of sounding stupid, if I buy tickets now, can I really use them in February??? If so, will they add the tickets to my room key like we have had in the past so we don't have to keep up with anything?

I guess what I'm wondering is, what's the catch????

If its the same rules as AP's for those of us who don't own DVC, your AP is active from when you turn in your voucher. BUT when renewing, it is active at the time of your current AP's expiration.

Re: Ticket prices going up.

Don't the ticket prices increase every year?
What scares me is the prices increase and there are less shows, etc.

Re: Ticket prices going up.

If anyone is thinking about adding a day or two to their tickets when they get to the resort, you want to call now before prices go up. Three years ago this caught us. Ticket prices went up after we had paid off our bill but before we checked in. It cost us about $75 ( family of 5) more than had we made the changes before they went up.

Gah...I HAVE to find a way to stay seasonal, now! You may get what you pay for, but come on... We're leaving 50 and inching towards 100. You'd think with the economy blowing like it is, Disney would know that not everyone can afford to pay that much for tix... It's becoming an elitist vacation spot, I fear.

I almost wish their park counts would go down, just to prove that point. Aren't I terrible?

There is no catch. You can buy your tickets now and they become active from the date of first use. Yes they will still put your tickets on your room key. You can call and confirm all of this, but why wait for the price to increase?

Re: Ticket prices going up.

I took this picture last Sept. of the prices. If you buy a 10 day base ticket it comes out to only $22.50 per day. That is not a lot to me. I know everyone doesn't buy their tickets this way, but if you add the no expire option you can use them again on your next trip.

Re: Ticket prices going up.

We just bought the 10 day, no expiration, park hopper tickets for DH & myself. That made our tickets $45.50 per day. I understand that it is alot of money to shell out at one time. I saved up the money to buy our tickets. (I think of it kind of like a Christmas Club savings account)

But, I could have saved up the $450 + tax & bought mine first. Then, I could have done the same for DH, etc. No one says they have to be bought all at one time. If you squirreled away $25.00 a week, that would be $100.00 a month. In 4 & a half months, you would have one 10 day, no expiration, park hopper ticket! Plus, you don't have to use all 10 days during one trip. That could be two 5 day trips.

Say you want to go to WDW in the summer of 2010, you can start saving or buying now. After that, you could begin paying monthly on your value resort. (For us a room is only a place to rest or sleep) We have ours paid for before we go.
