But, I could have saved up the $450 + tax & bought mine first. Then, I could have done the same for DH, etc. No one says they have to be bought all at one time. If you squirreled away $25.00 a week, that would be $100.00 a month. In 4 & a half months, you would have one 10 day, no expiration, park hopper ticket! Plus, you don't have to use all 10 days during one trip. That could be two 5 day trips.

Say you want to go to WDW in the summer of 2010, you can start saving or buying now. After that, you could begin paying monthly on your value resort. (For us a room is only a place to rest or sleep) We have ours paid for before we go.
That's actually a really good tip. Saving up and buying one ticket at a time can be a good way to go about it.

I'm just so relieved that I learned I can buy tickets early. I was just sitting around waiting for next year's prices so I could apparently spend more money!

Thanks for the info- you guys are all so very helpful!

Re: Ticket prices going up.

I do agree that they should not be raising their prices at this time. But on the other hand minimun wage just went up,food prices are up,gas is up and lots of other thigs are up as well. I wish they would'nt have to raise prices with all we have comming at us but if it keeps the service excellent as it is then I guess I don'y mind too much. I mean I mind that they are going up but to keep service great, well, I can survive. I will just have to save, save, save. If it gets to high I don't know what I will do,but for now I will still be travieling to Disney.

At the risk of sounding stupid, if I buy tickets now, can I really use them in February??? If so, will they add the tickets to my room key like we have had in the past so we don't have to keep up with anything?

I guess what I'm wondering is, what's the catch????
I guess the catch would be if you want to also have the dining plan. If you buy your tickets now you will just book a "room only" reservation later. With a room only you can't book the dining plan b/c it needs to be a package. This happened with us since we already have our park tickets but want the plan - so when we booked the room we also had to purchase a one day ticket per person in order to add the dining plan.

Park tickets you buy now will not have an expiration date until the 1st day you use it (unless you add on the non-expiring option)

Re: Ticket prices going up.

OMG! Thanks so much for posting this. DH and I are leaving tomorrow for Orlando, but I have a convention through Saturday. We'll be at DTD tomorrow night to see La Nouba, and were debating whether to buy our APs tomorrow, or wait until our first official day in the parks, on SUNDAY! You just saved us some money! Thanks again!

This is so confusing!!! We have always booked our trips so last minute that we've never had to deal with this stuff. Let me make sure I have it right.

We are planning our trip for February 2009. In order to make sure we had a room, I have already made a room only reservation. When I did that, the cm said I could call back when the new prices were out and change it to a package. We were definately wanting the dining plan. So it sounds like it would be better for me to wait for the new (inflated) prices like I originally was going to do and add both the tickets and dining???

Thank goodness I have you guys to keep me straight!!!

You could also call before Sunday and make it a package at the current rate and save yourself a couple of bucks.
