I was browsing around on several of the main Blog sights this morning and came across this information...

"From August 24 thru September 27, guests on either the Disney Dining Plan or Deluxe Dining Plan can redeem a Table Service entitlement at a Quick (counter) Service location. In addition to the Quick (counter) Service meal, a certificate will then be issued entitling the bearer to:
Two Snacks to be redeemed at the same time at the same location. This certificate is valid at participationg Quick Serve, merchandise or outdoor food venues
OR the certificate can be redeemed for a sling mesh bag. The bag will be available at the merchandise locations which are listed on the certificate (designs may vary)"

Has anyone else heard about this? We leave Wednesday the 27th, have all of our ADR's made and have extra Deluxe Dining Plan meal credits that we need to use. I would love to purchase a Quick Service meal to be able to get the certificate for the free bag!!

Perhaps they were short on table reservations and were offering this as a perk.

Is it possible that Disney overbooked the Table Service meals and are hoping that by adding this 'Perk' that people will opt to choose a Quick Service meal instead of waiting for a table?

This is my first time at Disney with my family and I booked all our ADR's on the Deluxe DIning Plan last April. Will we still have to wait to get a table? Should we arrive early to our restaurant?? My reservations are for:

Chef Mickey's (breakfast)
Hoop-Dee-Doo
Cinderella's Royal Table (Breakfast)
Crystal Palace (dinner)
Princess Storybook breakfast
San Angel Inn (dinner)
Donald's Safari Breakfast
California Grill (Dinner)
Play-N-Dine @ Hollywood & Vine Breakfast
Fantasmic Dinner Package @ BRown Derby (DInner)
Ohana (breakfast)

We actually still have 3 Table credits left each on our deluxe Dining Plan even after all these reservations!! I thought we could use our snack credits for a quick pick me up in the afternoon, but I would like to use the Perk that Disney is offering to get the mesh Bag. I wonder if you can get more than one?!

I am thinking that perhaps with the free dining all the reservations were taken and people were left with Table credits that would have to be used on counter service.

Disney has run this type of promotion before. There was a thread awhile back questioning whether they were going to have something like this again. Now we have an answer! Thanks!

I just can't get excited about a mesh bag. I don't think that would placate me if I couldn't find anywhere decent to eat.

Of course, I also would have books ADRs the second I was able to, because I'm obsessive like that.

I've seen this announcement several times too. I think allears.net has it posted. You can probably trade in as often as you like. As I said in the other post, it is probably only worth it if you are about to leave and have left over credits. The trade off doesn't really work out in a guests favor otherwise.

Since I will probably end up with extra meal credits, I'm excited that I can order a quick service meal and end up with a souvenir to boot! It may not be an even trade off, but at least I won't be wasting the credits!!

YES! They recommend you arrive 15 minutes prior to your seating time. Your ADRs help you to secure a table, but that doesn't mean EXACTLY at that time. Disney is really good at this, they only time I REALLY waited was for the Princess Storybook Breakfast, cuz it's so high demand!

You have great ADRs, you are going to have a great time! ENJOY!

I have lots of TS left over as our dining plan is for 14 days- and we were hoping to get more reservations on a daily basis either through 'walk up' or WDW dine as we have used that service before from our resort room and always got what we wanted so fingers crossed that would happen this trip too.
But I would like to swap for the bag too sounds neat!

last year i think you could trade a table service for something too - maybe extra snacks and a pin or something. i can't remember what it was, but do remember that being an option. we had snack credits and a couple counter service left over, but not table service. i'd have liked to be able to trade my counter service in for something - even more snacks, so i could bring home more fun things. oooh- or maybe a credit to a disney store - now, that would be great!!

HMM... Interestingly enough, I called dining reservations today to confirm all our ADR's and asked about the whole table service/Quick service trade and free mesh bag offer. The gentleman on the phone informed me that he has been working for Disney for 9 years and they have NEVER swapped Table credits for Quick service credits! He said I was misinformed and was adamant about it! I explained to him what I had read and he basically told me I was crazy!

I just left it at that. I guess I will further investigate once we get to Disney and at the resort. I plan on printing off a copy of the information and taking it with me. I've realized you need to make copies of EVERYTHING! I've already been duped on my free 5x7 Photopass picture because somebody screwed up my reservation apparently.

Anyway...we will make the most of it and have a GREAT first Disney Family Trip!
