A Walt Disney opera?

I know this isn't the most reliable source of 'Disney news' but I thought it was interesting to say the least. I took this straight from PerezHilton.com

"The New York City Opera has commissioned an opera based on Walt Disney .

The work will imagine what the last few moths of the genius' life was like.

Famed composer Philip Glass will score the opera which is set to open the company's 2012-2013 season.

Would you see the Disney opera?"

I'll buy tickets the day the go on sale, even though I don't think I really care for opera.

We'll have to go together. I must be a nerd because I actually like opera. Last Christmas Daniel got me the "complete Opera classics" collection on CD, I love it!

Re: A Walt Disney opera?

This was in our newspaper this morning. I'm not an opera fan so I don't think I'd go out of my way to see it. But if I got free tickets . . . .

I am not sure if I would go, I would worry that someone would have a different preception of his life like I do. I don't want that jaded.

I have to agree with you senacm. They always stretch the truth or make things up for the sake of "entertainment". I'll pass.

Re: A Walt Disney opera?

Opera? No. Turn it around Broadway musical style and I'm all there.

I love the opera. It's just like in the movie Pretty Woman You either love it or you hate it.

This reminds me of a knock-knock joke:

Knock, knock.

Who's there?

Knock, knock.

Who's there?

Who's there?

Knock, knock.

Who's there?

Knock, knock.

I know what you're talking about, I'd see it too!

Spear and magic helmet!!

Seriously though, I think I'd pass as well. I'm not hardcore enough for the opera, and it just seems...weird. But thats just me!

Hmmmmmm, I've been to the opera . . . it's OK . . . I'd have to read reviews and know more about the story before buying tickets.
