Weird..I can't see them re-branding the old POP when it's so popular. It does seem like a good idea for the Legendary Years. I never really loved the 00's through the 40's idea. Some of them would be cool..but I don't know.

I agree make the legendary years animation Inn, but I like POP. Either way, I hope they keep just plain rooms, not make everything suites. I like the value price and all I need is a bed and bathroom. We're in the park all day so I would not use the kitchenette.

I hate to say it, but I have to believe Jim Hill. He's usually a GREAT source of information!
I hope they don't do away with regular rooms completely, though. It would be GREAT if they turned Legendary Years into Family Suites, and keep all existing rooms as is. MAYBE with new decor to match the theme of the rest of the resort. I am not a baby boomer and I LOVE the theming of POP. Time will tell....

I would love to see this happen, it sounds so Disney-ish. Pop doesn't do a lot for me but a new theme with a lot of Disney in it would be pretty cool.

I think if they ONLY branded it towards the legendary UNFINISHED years, then yes, thats a wonderful idea. But the should leave POP be the way it is! It's mine and my familys favorite! I don't want it to change! Plus, it is popular, so obviously a lot of others probably feel the same as me.
I'd be very upset if POP changed  , but it does sound interesting! Just for somewhere like the unfinished years lol.

Excuse my cynicism, but some of this smacks of marketing folks making excuses to spend more money.
Pop Century may not be the most classicly Disney branded resort (please forgive the pun), but since when does branding impact the capacity of the resort? I mean, Disney is constantly trying to upsell, so once they have a family committed to staying on property, they'll try to move them up a notch. The real reason that All-Stars is full is large groups know it's the most affordable way to stay on property. Pop doesn't allow groups. And, exactly HOW is All-Stars a Disney brand? I do like the idea of completing the Legendary years with the Animation brand with family suites. If they want to re-brand the whole resort, so be it. But the reason that they can't quite get Pop filled to capacity is that extra spending money has been at a premium for about 9 years now. "It's the economy stupid!" Every now and then, Disney marketers annoy me. Can ya tell??? I would prefer that they try to come up with affordable short vacations. I don't want 3 free nights after staying 4. I'd prefer a midweek discount: arrive on Wednesday, checkout on Friday for $250 pp in a Value Resort including parks. THAT'S something that would impress me.

I was really excited to see the Legendary Years... although I am a history geek, so perhaps that theme doesn't appeal to the masses... I don't know about this Animation idea though. I love me some classic Disney animation...... but when I saw that picture of the big Baloo and Mogli statue I couldn't helping thinking, "Another All-Star Movies???" I know, I know... that hotel isn't JUST animation, it has live-action too..... but I feel like they need a more unique theme... Like the Legendary Years...

Interesting article - thanks for posting it!
I thought that Pop was actually the most popular of the values. I have tried to get a room there before but it's always been sold out and there have been rooms available at AS Sports & AS Music. I think a total re-theme of Pop would be a huge use of money that I would rather see Disney invest in a new attraction, but that's just my opinion.
