I didn't think about cut backs for this upcoming trip! I wonder if we will notice anything different??? hmmmmmmm sad! I don't have the $$$ to go on this trip! But I use the money I am supposed to be finishing the basement with!

On the subject of cutbacks, I read that:
1. The 4 singers (Return 2 Zero) that would sometimes perform before Beauty
and the Beast are gone.
2. The African singers/dancers (Tam Tam's of the Congo) that would perform in
Harambe (sp.) are gone.
3. Fantasmic will go down to 2 days a week starting in January.
4. The Flower Power concerts will only be on weekends during the Flower and
Garden show at Epcot this March thru May.
Cutbacks, with probably increases in tickets, rooms, food, and everything else.
Just venting.

I honestly don't think that we're feeling the squeeze. This year will have generated another record-breaking profit year for the company. Although we are preparing for a very slow start in '09 as forcasted. I guess trying to be safe than sorry.

A LOT of reason for budget cuts is to put money to all the new upcoming shows/attractions, etc. The new Day Parade at MK for example, as well as a brand new street party show that'll be replacing Family Fun Day called "Move it, Shake it, Celebrate it!" There's a new show/stage going to be in Tomorrowland for a Stitch show. They're tearing down Galaxy Palace Theatre at the start of the new year.

I know you've probably got all sorts of new questions about what will be in each new show/parade. Please don't ask because I'm not permitted to tell you at this time. Just know they're going to be great.

So as you can see, we're prepping for a all new celebration with all new things to keep our guests happy and entertained during this tough times. I guess certain sacrifices have to be made, much to everyone's dismay, including mine. But I promise you. Once you see some of the new things we're about premiere next year, well, you might soon forget about P and P.

Oh well thanks for such an informative answer Rowdy, sounds like some really interesting things planned and in the pipe line. As for the slow start to 09 well I guess thats a global thing as everyone will be treading very carefully at first until the economic situation settles more favourably for everyone hopefully- but thanks again for the info.

I am sooooo disappointed we have really talked it up and planned to go in April. Originally it was posted as one on April 22, I called for tickets and they just said I couldn't get them at the time....now I know why. Thanks for the heads up.

hmmmmm shame it has been canceled for now. I would think once the economy picks up again, it will be brought back. With it being so popular, I can't imagine it not being brought back when things get better

Glad we got to experience it the past May. We absolutely loved it! Some of the CM's said then it may not happen in 2009...guess they knew what they were talking about. Hopefully it'll be back in a couple of years.

Looking forward to the added stage...wonder in non-show times if they'll have music similar to the P&PP. I think there was a "DJ" set up...The kids LOVED learning the new dances & dancing to the pop songs.

I'm new here, this is my very first post! We are going to WDW on 1/17 and just last Friday I booked the pirate thing for my boys. There was no problem booking it, I would have thought that the girl would've said something. No?? I am not familiar with these things, but I would atleast hope that Disney would give their customers a head's up.

Pirate Adventure - Children wear pirate bandannas and follow clues to search Bay Lake and the Seven Seas Lagoon for buried treasure. They sail to many exotic "ports of call" (Resort Marinas) to collect treasure. Children who are potty trained (no pull-ups) and ages 4-12 may attend. Lunch is provided (Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich, Gummy bears, Krispy Treat and Juice box).

Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday 9:30 - 11:30 a.m.
Available to all guests. Cost is $31.95 (includes tax).
